Hey Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

I hope you had a blessed day knowing and believing in the love God has for you. I had a good day on campus chatting up some believers and one Muslim, Aun, about the truth of Christianity as declared in the Bible, which was endorsed by Muhammad. We had the entire NT in Greek by 350 AD. Mohammed lived in the early 600’s and said to check him against the Christians and Jews and what they taught. The Quran says God preserves His word. Mohammed told Christians they should follow their book, which we know was not changed from Muhammad’s time. He approached me but I think I knew more about Islam than he did. And Layla and Allison each enthusiastically and gratefully prayed to receive Jesus so that was a blessing. Their responses are below if you wish to take the time. Please pray they are assured with the sanctification without which no one can see the Lord.

 Layla was sitting in the hall that tracks by Starbucks on the way to the Book Store. She was a pretty girl with a St. Mary looking face a small chin full lips and very dark hair. She had a lot of cover make-up on I realized once I sat beside her, she was breaking out, stress of school I’d guess. She wore a black tube top showing fair skin on bare shoulders but I could not tell any ethnicity. She wore bellbottom jeans and had strap sandals with some kind of gold ornament where the strap joined. She wanted to go skydiving. DuPage County Airport is not that far from campus. If they had a skydiving class based on how many kids say they would want to do it they would get a lot of students. Nice kid. I asked her, “You’re walking down the road and you get hit by a bus. So you’re dead. And you stand before God and He says, ‘Why should I let you into Heaven?’ What would you say?” “Because I would want to know Him,” she replied. “I would want to ask questions about my life, if I did the right things on my path.” She thought she had a 100% chance of going to Heaven. She had gone to Church when she was younger. She could not quite remember what Jesus had done to take away the sins of the world so God could live inside her at least at first. I began to explain to her what Jesus had done living a perfect life for us though we could not be perfect and the Bible said this was required. She was shy and for the most part stared at the booklet as I explained the Gospel of the blood and righteousness of Christ writing in the occasional verse. I asked if she would want to be forgiven for her sins, God would then live inside her and give her strength and take her to Heaven when she died. “Yes,” she said, nodding in affirmation. I said if she wanted to be forgiven there was a prayer she could pray. I explained it and asked if it was the desire of her heart. She nodded again and I said she could pray it silently, “Wanna do that?” I asked. “Umhm,” She replied nodding again and she took the booklet and prayed to receive Jesus. She kind of clutched the booklet after so I said she could keep it but took it back briefly to explain the Christian life. She said she had a Bible to read and I explained she could read in John if she wanted. “John calls Jesus the Word at the beginning,” I explained and said that “The Word” was a name the prophets used to describe Jesus in the Old Testament sometimes when He appeared to them. I told her then everything in the Christian life was “By the Spirit’s Power”. I read the line from the booklet I always do if there’s time, “Your walk with Christ depends on what you allow Him to do in and through you, empowered by the Holy Spirit not what you do for Him (by your own) self-effort.” I then explained living “Inside Out”. I said the likelihood she would now go to Heaven trusting in the blood and righteousness of Jesus was 100%. I gave her Bible Promises for You explaining it was the easy English version and explained how she could turn the content into a prayer and wrote her name and the date and forgiven in the front. She looked at her phone to give me the right date and said, “It’s my sister Birthday.” I said, “Well now you have a Spiritual Birthday on the same day because you are born again.” She liked that. I gave her, The Case for Christ Answer Booklet and explained Strobel’s story saying he had longer things to say on YouTube but she might find a topic she liked in it. I gave her a Bible Study on the Deity of Christ and explained walking on the water as something Job might have seen Jesus do. I told her I would pray a Bible verse for her each day from now until Spring and one year after asking God to bless her. She was very grateful. “Thank you,” she said warmly. “Have a blessed life,” I replied with a smile. “You too, thank you.” And I headed off.

 Allison was a little down the hall almost to the bookstore entrance sitting in a chair at a round coffee table. I almost collided with another girl in the hall as passed her and the girl laughed as I hopped out of the way and I think it made an opening with Allison somehow and she said she’d do a survey. She had darker Latina coloring, a bit wider cute face, her cheeks dimpled when it split into a long smile. She had long wavy hair. She wore a black hoodie and longish jean shorts. Her right thigh had a long stem rose climbing most of it, the top of the flower cut off by denim. She had white cross trainer on. She was a nice outgoing kid. She too wanted to skydive. I asked her, “You’re walking down the road and you get hit by a bus. So you’re dead. And you stand before God and He says, ‘Why should I let you into Heaven?’ What would you say?” ‘Because I believe,” she said right away. So I asked, “What do you think it is that gets you into Heaven?” “Your character,” she replied without missing a beat. I asked, “How likely is it you will get into Heaven?” “Very,” she replied. “Out of 10, 10. I began to go through the Gospel saying the last part of the survey was what she thought about Christianity. “I’m Catholic,” she replied. I said “Well it’s all about Jesus.” She agreed and I started in. with her and explained knowing God was eternal life because it meant He lived inside her. But first he had to take away her sin. When I asked what Jesus had done she knew He had died. I explained Jesus said you are to be perfect as you heavenly Father is perfect. So Jesus lived a perfect life for us and was a sacrifice for our sins His blood cleansing us and was a perfect payment to God. His righteousness was to our credit. She had to receive Jesus, to believe Jesus was God had died for her sins and rose from the dead, not that she just knew the story but that that’s what she put her trust in so if someone would ask “Why should God let you into Heaven?” You’d say, “Because Jesus died for me.” That would mean you had faith in Jesus. Faith saved her. I asked if she would want to be forgiven for her sins trusting in what Jesus had done, then the Spirit would live inside her to give strength and take her to Heaven when she died. “Or do you think something else?” and I explained a Muslim God and Buddha. I asked again, “So would you want to be forgiven for your sins?” “Yeah. That one,” she said of the circle with God inside. I said if she wanted to be forgiven there was a prayer she could pray and talked her through it asking if it expressed the desire of her heart. “Yeah it does,” she replied. So I said she could pray it silently, “I wouldn’t hear you but God would hear and you’d know you were forgiven. Wanna do that?” “Yeah,” she said enthusiastically as if to say “Obviously I would.” So she took the booklet and prayed then to receive Christ. I told her about the Christian life then. Reading the Bible and living ‘by the Spirit’s Power” she could ask for transformation living inside out. She had a Bible so I said she could read in John explaining that a bit and I gave her Bible Promises for You writing her name and the date and “forgiven!” in the front. “Thank you very much,” she said. I showed her how she could pray a Bible verse. I also gave her The Case for Christ Answer Booklet saying she might like one of the sections. I gave her a Bible Study on the Deity of Christ explaining how walking on the water was a claim to be God. I said I would pray a Bible verse for her each day from now until Spring and one year after asking God to bless her. Finally I said the likelihood she would now go to Heaven was 100% trusting in the blood and righteousness of Jesus and I would go too though I’d sinned more than her being old. I got up to go, “Thank you,” she said. “God bless you,” I replied. “Thank you, likewise,” she said. “Thank you,” I said and headed off.
