Hey Sisters and Brothers in Christ,

I hope your day was filled with joy and peace in believing, abounding in hope. I had a good week and Emmanuel, Layla and Allison prayed to receive Jesus then Thursday Dove prayed to receive Christ along with Siarra and Ginny. Please pray these young women grow and their understanding and love for God. Their responses are below if you want to spend the time.

Dove, an African American was sitting in the cafeteria at the counter eating a salad. She had gold-rimmed semi round glasses and full features. She wore a grey sweatshirt hoodie and black pants. Her hair was in ringlets in front the rest pulled back and tied behind her head. She had plans to get an MSW and was just beginning at school. I asked her, “You’re walking down the road and you get hit by a bus. So you’re dead. And you stand before God and He says, ‘Why should I let you into Heaven?’ What would you say?” She said, “I would say I’ve done good things in my life.” I asked her the percentage likelihood she would go to Heaven when she died. “I would say 50,” she replied. I asked her if she went to Church and she said she didn’t but went to a church camp when she was a kid. As I began to go through the Gospel I asked her what Jesus had done to take away the sins of the world so God could live inside her. She knew Jesus had died. She was engaged listening to all I usually say to communicate the Gospel and didn’t return to her salad as I talked standing beside her at the counter. I explained his blood and righteousness and He rose from the dead. She needed to receive Jesus believe He was God had died for her sins and rose from the dead and to place her trust in that to be forgiven. That was faith and faith saved her. I asked if she would want to be forgiven for her sins trusting in what Jesus had done or thought something else quickly stating the Muslim god and the Buddha. “So would you want to be forgiven for your sins,” I asked again. “I would want to be with Christ after I die,” she replied. So I said if she wanted to be forgiven there was a prayer she could pray and I talked her through it and asked if it expressed the desire of her heart, reading the question to her at the top of the next page. She nodded it did and I said she could pray it silently right now and know she was forgiven. “Wanna do that?” I asked. “Sure,” she replied and she prayed to receive Jesus. When she finished I went through the Christian life with her. She had a Bible so I explained reading in John and I gave her Bible Promises for You writing her name and the date and “forgiven!” in the front. I also gave her The Case For Christ Answer Booklet and a Bible study and she knew the miracle of Jesus walking on the water as I explained one of His claims to be God. explaining it. I told her I would pray a Bible verse for her each day asking God to bless her. She said, “Thank you.” I told her that now trusting in the blood and righteousness of Jesus the likelihood she would go to Heaven was 100%. “Nice to meet ya,” I said grabbing my backpack to go. “You too,” she replied and I headed off.

Siarra [See R ah] was sitting I the hallway of the SW side of the science buildings. She wore a nursing smock with colored quarter size dots on it floating around in a random pattern and a brown cardigan. She had dark green scrub pants on. Her hair was parted down the middle and flat to her head gathered in back. She was African American and had fair skin and oval face her features were smaller. She wanted to travel and see all the continents had a confidence to her. She asked me where I had traveled to. She said she liked the way I had phonetically written her name on the survey. “Yeah people don’t say their name how it is spelled all the time so I have to write it down so I can remember later.” I explained and asked her. “You’re walking down the road and you get hit by a bus. So you’re dead. And you stand before God and He says, ‘Why should I let you into Heaven?’ What would you say?” “That’s a hard question,” she replied. “I know He forgives. I already know I’ve been doing wrong so I probably would just look at Him,” she replied. “And be afraid,” I added and she agreed. I asked her the likelihood she would go to Heaven when she died and she said “Right now, 25%.” I began to go through the Gospel with her. I explained that God loved her and wanted to take away her sins and live inside her and she knew Jesus had died to take away the sins of the world. I explained the righteousness of God Christ earned and that she would not go to Heaven because she was good but because Jesus was good. Students in the hallway started entering the classroom then and I asked if she had to go. “I don’t think she’s here yet but you have 5 minutes,” she replied looking at her watch. I told her the rest speedily and asked if she would want to be forgiven trusting in what Jesus had done. She pointed at the circle on the right after I gave her the options. I read through the prayer and she got lost in a thought right after. I asked if it expressed the desire of her heart. “What?” she said coming back a second and said “Oh yeah.” I said if she wanted to she could pray it silently and she took the booklet and prayed to receive Jesus. She had a Bible and I told her about the Spirit’s power and said gave her Bible Promises for You writing her name and the date and “forgiven!” She thanked me. I gave her The Case for Christ Answer Booklet and a Bible study and said the likelihood she would now go to Heaven was 100% trusting in the blood and righteousness of Jesus. I told her I would pray a Bible verse for her each day from now until Spring and one year after asking God to bless her. She had to run. “Enjoy your day, thank you again,” she said and she went into her class across the hall.

Ginny was sitting in a little adjacent lounge that is separated by a wall from the vending machines on the SW side of the big science lounge on the 2nd floor. There are a couple of tables squeezed in there where there once were seats. I rarely talk to people in there because they always appear to be cramming for a test. She wasn’t and it turned out she wasn’t a student but had finished her AA degree in Psychology and was waiting for a friend. She had her hair dyed a kind of red to orange, you could see an inch of roots at the top. Her hair was wavy and fell to her shoulders. She had African American features but was very light skinned like pale milk chocolate and a gap-toothed smile. Short cute face, kind of elfish, she had a piercing in either side of her lower lip one a little diamond the other a ring of sorts. She had a smaller nose and was slight with a long sleeve tan top on it with flecks of color and black fleece sweats. She had a laptop open with some random stickers on it. She said she really wanted to travel and came across kind of meek. I asked her, “You’re walking down the road and you get hit by a bus. So you’re dead. And you stand before God and He says, ‘Why should I let you into Heaven?’ What would you say?” “Oh that’s a good question,” she replied. “I wouldn’t know how to answer that,” she said after thinking about it a moment. I asked what it was she thought got you into Heaven. “Doing God’s deeds, following His instructions as provided, understanding and accepting the mistakes you made,” she replied. I asked the likelihood she would go to Heaven she said 100%. I began to go through the Gospel with her explained God’s love and that He wanted to live inside her but had to take away her sins. She knew Jesus had died to take away the sins of the world. She tuned right in and listened to how the blood of Christ cleansed her and was a payment for sin He lived the perfect life we owed God and could not live. God adopted her and made her his child and gave her the blessings of His family, the sacrifice for her sins the blood that cleansed her and the righteousness of God that surrounded her.  She needed to receive Jesus for this to be hers, to believe Jesus was God had died for her sins and rose from the dead. Not that she just knew the story but that that’s what she put her trust in. So if someone would ask, “Why should God let you into Heaven?” she’d say, “Because Jesus died for me, I trust in that.” That was faith and faith saved her. I asked if she would want to be forgiven trusting in what Jesus had done. “Yeah,” she replied. I said if she wanted to be forgiven there was a prayer she could pray and talked her through it asking if it expressed the desire of her heart. She nodded it did. I said she could pray it silently, “Wanna do that?” “Yeah,” she replied and she took the booklet and prayed to receive Jesus. I explained the Christian life to her living by the Spirit’s power. She had a Bible to read. I gave her Bible Promises for You writing her name and the date and “forgiven!” in the front and The Case for Christ Answer Booklet telling her some of Strobel’s story. I gave her a Bible study and explained it. I got up to go and said, “Oh I almost forgot I’ll pray a Bible verse for you each day from now until Spring and one year after asking God to bless you. Nice to meet you.” “Nice to meet you too,” she replied and I headed off.

So thanks for your prayers for the ministry and for Evangelism this past week if you had a chance. God truly blessed the work.

 In Him,

Bob
