Hey Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

I hope your day was blessed knowing God is blessing the upright, and we are that in Christ by the power of His Spirit. I had a good day on campus. Interacted with some Muslims a bit who had no response to ways the Quran has changed. We had a Bible study with a couple guys and Simone prayed to receive Christ so that was great. Her story is below if you have some time. Please pray she grows in faith; she’s going to a pretty good church in Aurora.

Simone was sitting in the SE corner lounge of the second floor of the BIC at a table slid in there on an angle. She is a pretty black girl; her septum was pierced with a horseshoe and she had another piercing in her right nostril. She wore a grey sweatshirt for Ohio University and had leggings on. She had her hair in braids with ornaments tied in in multiple places had a firm jawline and a slight square chin. I asked her what she would say to God if she died and He asked, “Why should I let you into Heaven?” She began to reply with, “Hmm… I mean… Hmm.” Then said, “I feel like I’d be willing to confess the sins I’ve made. I’m willing to learn from the mistakes I’ve made. I feel like I’ve lived a good life. I’ve loved the people in my life. I would try to help as many people as I can if I can.” She thought the likelihood she would go to Heaven was 70%. She listened as I began to talk about the Gospel and God living in her. I asked what Jesus had done to take away her sins and she said she did not know. So I explained how Jesus had died His blood cleansed her and was a payment to God for all we owed Him. Then when God adopts us the righteousness Christ earned is too our credit. I explained receiving Christ and that the answer to the question: Why should God let you into Heaven? Is: Because Jesus died for me? I asked if she’d like to be forgiven for her sins or thought something else. “I’d like to be forgiven,” she replied. So I said if she wanted to be forgiven there was a prayer she could pray and talked through it asking if it expressed the desire of her heart. “I think so, yes.” She answered. I asked if she’d like to pray it silently and she said, “Sure.” And she prayed to receive Jesus. I told her now trusting in the righteousness of Jesus to be her righteousness and His blood to pay for her the likelihood she would go to Heaven was 100%. I said I was old and so had sinned way more than her but the Blood of Jesus is of infinite value as was His righteousness and so would cover us both. I gave her a Bible Study and Bible Promises for You and wrote her name and the date and “forgiven!” in the front and I gave her The Case for Christ Answer Book. I told her I would pray a Bible verse for her each day from now until Spring and then one year after. I told her if I saw her around I’d give her a wave. “I like your hair,” I said getting up to go. “Thank you I did it myself for the first time.” I said it looked good and the top really laid flat and she explained her hair flattened out easily with something she put in it and was happy to receive the compliment. I said “good job I guess you saved a lot of money” I’d heard from other black girls it can cost $200 to braid their hair. She agreed smiling and was happy. She said thank you and I headed off.

So thanks for your prayers for the ministry and for evangelism today if you had a chance, God truly blessed the work.

In Him,

Bob
