Hey sisters and Brothers in Christ,

I hope you were blessed today and have a blessed evening ahead; holidays make me even more grateful God has seen fit to keep Ellen on the earth. I had a good day on campus and Gia & Cristina each prayed to receive Jesus today. Pretty great Valentine’s Day gift, eternal life. Their stories are below if you have time. Thanks for your prayers please ask that they might grow in faith.

Gia was up on the 3rd floor in the lounge at the southeast corner of the BIC building that overlooks the PE building across the way. She was wearing a hoodie and a kind of black leggings that stopped at her ankles. She had light brown hair and an oval face. Nice looking wearing no makeup, she didn’t have anything distinctive about her appearance, somehow looked like a lawyer. When I asked her what she would say to God she said, “I don’t know, I tried to be a good person I guess.” She thought she had a 50/50 chance of going to Heaven. She said she’d gone to Catholic Church through confirmation. I explained that God wanted to live inside her and to do so He had to take away her sins. I asked her how Jesus had done that and she knew He had died on the cross. I explained how Jesus’ blood cleansed her and was a payment for her sins and then explained the righteousness of God Jesus earned which was her when God adopted her, “Wow, she said.  I said would give her the blessings of His family, the sacrifice for her sins the blood that cleansed her and the righteousness of God that surrounded her. I asked if she would want to be forgiven for her sins or thought something else. She said, “I would want to be forgiven.” So I said if she wanted to be forgiven there was a prayer she could pray and I talked her through it and asked if it expressed the desire of her heart. “I would say that it does,” she replied. So I said she could pray it silently and be forgiven. “Sure,” she replied and she took the booklet and prayed to receive Jesus. She did not have a Bible so I gave her one showing her the things inside, cross references and maps and such. I wrote her name and the date and “forgiven!” in the front. I wrote her name in the front of Bible Promises for You and The case for Christ Answer Booklet and gave her a Bible study. She thanked me.  I explained living the Christian life by the Spirit’s power and said that now trusting in the righteousness of Jesus to be her righteousness the likelihood she would go to Heaven was 100%. I said I would keep her in my prayers praying a Bible verse for her each day through spring and one year after. She thanked me again and her sister walked up so they had to go so I headed off.

Cristina was sitting in the Science building in the hallway with a plate of what looked like pizza but she set it aside and seemed to forget it while we talked. She had a fish net shirt over a deep red shirt and was wearing a cross and dark red lipstick. She had a black and white wrap around coat on with kind of a South West patter on it and tan, pants, black shoes with a white stripe. She had a cute kind of diamond shaped face, looked to be a Latina in coloring. Her dark brown hair was parted on the left side and was not quite to her shoulders, a bit shorter in front. She had deep green eye shadow on. I asked her what she would say to God if asked why should I let you into Heaven. “It’s really up to Him,” she replied. “He knows what I’ve done, all my sins and I trust in His judgment. As much as I would like to [make a case] it’s really up to Him.” I asked her the likelihood she would get into Heaven and she said, “60% over 50+,” she replied. I began to go through the Gospel with her and she did not remember what Jesus had done to take away the sins of the world. I’m pretty sure she was aware of the crucifixion but the way I asked the question did not trip any lights in her head. I asked if she went to Church and she said she did, telling me it was Ash Wednesday and she would probably go later with her mom. I went on to say Jesus was the payment for our sin and His blood cleansed her. I also explained the righteousness of Christ. I explained that all this was to her credit by faith in Jesus. She said again that God would look at her and see what she’d done and she would accept that. I said, “He needs to look at you and see Jesus,” I replied, “Christ in you the hope of glory.” that seemed to bring her to a realization, like she woke up. I said, “When you think about it even the good things you do you have not done them perfectly. You might have done them to feel good about yourself or to make your mom happy.” She nodded in agreement. I said faith by grace saved her and then I asked if she would want to be forgiven for her sins or thought something else. “I would like to be forgiven,” she replied. So I said there was a prayer she could pray and asked if it expressed the desire of her heart. “Yes,” she replied and I said she could pray it silently and only God would hear and I was sitting next to her on a bench holding the book open as I said it and she had already begun to pray it silently reading it she went. When she had visibly stopped I said, “Amen?” “Amen,” she replied. I explained the Christian life to her. She had a Bible but I gave her Bible Promises for You and wrote her name and the date and forgiven in the front. “You’re giving this to me?” She asked and I said, “Yes.” She thanked me. I gave her The case for Christ Answer Booklet and gave her a Bible study explaining those things also. I told her that she could ask for forgiveness knowing God would not be surprised. He knew 100,000 years ago she had sinned and would have a plan to fix it. I told her I would keep her in my prayers each day praying a Bible verse for her from now until Spring and a year after. She realized she’d been blowing off a text then and said, “I don’t mean to be rude I just had to look at this.” I said no worries that was fine and got up to go she said, “Thank you so much, I really appreciate it.” I said, “You’re welcome,” and headed down the hall.

So thanks so much for your prayers for the ministry and for evangelism today if you had a chance, God truly blessed.

In Him,

Bob
