Hey Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

I hope you had a blessed day walking with the Lord in His Grace. I had a good day on campus and though I was exhausted today, not sleeping much last night Greta, Ravic and Austin each prayed with me to receive Christ. I got the gospel completely presented to each of them but was only about 70% at times and as always needed prayers thanks so much if you found the time. The responses these students gave are below if you have the time. Please pray they are sanctified by the Spirit of truth.

 Greta was sitting right on the corner hall bench of a lounge that sits on the NW corner of the BIC. She had a pretty face, shaped like a Barbie doll (without the oversized eyes) and her hair was tinted with silver blonde and she had the perfect skin some young people seem to have She had on a black t-shirt with some printing on it and light grey baggy sweats. I said I had not remembered ever talking to a girl named Greta in the last 20 years on campus and she said it was a Lithuanian name. I mentioned that names kind of cycle and names from back in the day surface again. We talked about immigration for some reason that country had changed that way. She had not known the law had changed in the 1960’s with the immigration act. I asked her one thing she would want to do before she died and she said, “Grow close in faith.” I asked, “You’re walking down the road and you get hit by a bus. So you’re dead. And you stand before God and He says, ‘Why should I let you into Heaven?’ What would you say?” “Um,” she said, and repeated the question to herself ending with another, “Um.” She finally said, “Nothing.” I asked what she thought it was that got you into Heaven. “Good deeds, stay faithful,” she replied. She thought she had a 60% chance of going to Heaven. She hadn’t been going to Church. I began to go through the Gospel with her and when I read the first verse in the booklet, John 3:16 she said with some enthusiasm she knew that verse and she read the Bible. She knew when I asked What Jesus had done to take away her sins that He had died on the cross. I explained then all I usually say. Some students I knew rolled by and said hi to me as I talked about the righteousness of God comparing it to extra credit in a class earned by someone else but in the end being credited to her as Jesus had done. Jesus lived a perfect life for her and rose from the dead. I asked her finally if she would want to be forgiven for her sins trusting in what Jesus had done, Then God would live inside her and give her strength, take her to heaven when she died, she nodded silently, having been serious through it all. I said if she wanted to be forgiven there was a prayer she could pray and I talked her through it and asked if it expressed the desire of her heart, she said it did so I said she could pray it silently, I wouldn’t hear her but God would hear and she’d know she was forgiven, “Um, sure,” she replied and she took the booklet and prayed to receive Jesus. When she finished I said the likelihood she would now go to Heaven trusting in the blood and righteousness of Jesus was 100%. I gave her Bible Promises for You writing her name and the date and “forgiven!” on the inside, which she liked. I gave her The Case for Christ Answer Booklet and a Bible study I explained. I said I would pray a Bible verse for her each day from now until Spring and one year after asking God to bless her. We talked about math classes at school as she was there to get her general ed. out of the way with less expense. I stood up to go and said, “It was so nice to meet you.” “You as well,” she said reaching out for my hand to shake it. “Thank you,” she said and I nodded shaking her hand and headed off.

I came across Rovic sitting on a bench in the first-floor hall of the east science building. He was waiting for class looking at his phone a bit and out the window to the North. He had on a blue pull over hoodie with a wide white stripe across the chest and dark blue sweats. He wore a large cross around his neck. He had a wavy mop of hair parted on the left and rectangle black rimmed glasses. He had a mustache and looked Latino and seemed a bit melancholy. Looked like a regular guy. He said he was stressed. It was pretty early in the semester to be worried about classes but when I asked him something he wanted to do before he died he said, “Get everything right in my life.” I asked, “You’re walking down the road and you get hit by a bus. So you’re dead. And you stand before God and He says, ‘Why should I let you into Heaven?’ What would you say?” “I hold heavy regrets in my life,” he replied. “So you’re saying you are sorry,” I said. “Yeah,” he replied. He thought he had a 50% chance of going to Heaven. He hadn’t been to Church much lately. I began to go through the Gospel with him and he too knew Jesus had died for us saying when I asked what He had done, “He was a sacrifice.” I agreed and went on to continue to explain all I usually do about the perfect blood of Jesus to cleanse us and be a payment for sin and the righteousness of God He earned that was to our credit. Saying he needed to believe, to receive Christ, I read, “As many as received Him to them, to those who believed on his name, He gave the right to become Children of God.” So you believe, Jesus is God He died for your sins and rose from the dead, not that you just knew the story from growing up at church but that that’s what you put your trust in as an adult. So if someone would ask you why should God let you into Heaven you’d say, “Because Jesus died for me.” “Yes,” he said. “That would mean you had faith in Jesus and faith saves you.” I asked if he would want to be forgiven for his sins or thought something else saying a few lines about Islam and the Buddha. “I would be forgiven,” he replied. So I said if he wanted to be forgiven there was a prayer he could pray. I talked through it and read, “Does this prayer express the desire of your heart. ‘Yeah,” he replied. I said he could pray it silently and know he was forgiven and asked if he’d like to and he said, “Yes.” He took the booklet and prayed to receive Jesus. He was happy then. He didn’t have a Bible so I gave him one showing him the study helps and wrote his name and the date and “forgiven!” in the front. I also gave him Bible Promises for You and The Case for Christ Answer Booklet and a Bible study. The girl off to my left who’d been working on a lap top got up to go in as they’d opened the door to the classroom. “I think I got to let you go to class,” I said. “Just in time,” he replied. I told him I would pray a Bible verse for him each day from now until Spring and one year after asking God to bless him. “The Bible says to forget what is behind and look forward because God forgave it, so be filled with Joy,” I said as we got up to go. “Thank you,” he said and he shook my hand with a big smile and I was off down the hall.

 Austin was sitting on a couch in the PE lounge. He had on black athletic shorts and a blue t-shirt over a white long sleeve shirt. He had an angular face, high cheek bones and a curly mop of hair above his ears sitting on his head like a thick bowl. He said he wanted to be a physical therapist. I asked him, “You’re walking down the road and you get hit by a bus. So you’re dead. And you stand before God and He says, ‘Why should I let you into Heaven?’ What would you say?” “I spread the word of the Lord to as many people as I can, family, loved ones and friends. I spend time in your word as well,” he replied. I asked the likelihood he would go to heaven. “60-70% right now,” he said. “I’m getting there.” He also knew Jesus had died when I asked what He had done back in History to take away the sins of the world. He listened to the Gospel as I went through and seemed interested. Finally I asked if he would want to be forgiven trusting in what Jesus had done for him on the cross. “Yes,” he replied. I said, “Well if you have not done this before there is a prayer you can pray,” and I talked him through it and said, “If you’ve never had a chance before to ask God to forgive you based on what Jesus did on the cross and tell Him you are thankful you could pray it silently and know you were forgiven. I wouldn’t hear you but God would hear.” He took the booklet then and prayed to receive Christ. I told him then the likelihood he would be forgiven now was 100% trusting in the blood and righteousness of Jesus. I said I would pray a bible verse for him each day asking God to bless him. He didn’t have a Bible but I only had a pocket NT left so I gave him that writing his name and the date and “forgiven!” in the front. I said I would bring him bigger one if he saw me around just flag me down I usually have one in my backpack. I also gave him Bible Promises for You and The Case for Christ Answer Booklet and a Bible study. He was grateful and I headed off.
