Hey Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

I hope your day was great and mercy, peace and love was multiplied to ya.  Zach and Sebastian each prayed to receive Jesus today. So I was grateful to be at school and I had a good conversation guiding a girl to understand her faith better.

I came across Zach at the corner that turns into the staircase area of the SSC lounge. He had on a military jacket, grey pants and had a dark mop of straight, near black, hair. He had sharp features but a smooth rounded nose and looked indistinctive and was trying to study. I asked him what he would say to God to get into Heaven and he said, “I don’t know what I would say. I’m at the gate?” he thought more and said, I would say I was pretty involved with my Church, in Junior High and High School I did the sound system. I feel like I did a little bit of time. I don’t know if that counts anything for God.” I asked him the likelihood he would go to Heaven if he died. “10% is low 100% you’re sure 50/50 you got a shot,” I said. “I don’t think I really have a shot. I think I’m going to Hell.” He replied. I began to go through the Gospel with him and explained that Jesus was the way God forgave his sins that His blood purified him so God could live inside him. He asked, “I don’t get how you pay, how you pay God back,” [for things you’ve done]. I said “Jesus is God and so His blood and His life are worth an infinite amount and so when He pours out his blood. It pays God back for all the imperfect things we did that we owe God something perfect for.” He understood and said “Thanks,” for the explanation. I explained the righteousness Christ earned and how God would adopt him and this righteousness would be to his credit. “So God gave Jesus to be a sacrifice for our sins,” he said restating what I’d been saying. I agreed with him and read 1cor 15:3-6 inserting the word sacrifice. I explained that he could be saved by faith. I asked if he wanted to be forgiven for his sins trusting in Jesus God would live in Him and he’d know he was going to Heaven. He said he would so I said there was a prayer he could pray if he wanted to be forgiven and after I read through it I asked reading, “Does this prayer express the desire of your heart?” He looked at it and said, “It encompasses everything.” I said he could pray it silently and he nodded he would and when I handed him the booklet he said, “Can I keep this?” I said he could and he quietly prayed to receive Jesus. He said to me, “You’re a blessing.” I gave him Bible Promises for You writing his name and the date and “forgiven!” in the front and he said he read for school so I gave him The Case for Easter. I also gave him a Bible study explaining it a bit. I told him I would pray a Bible verse for him each day from now until Spring and one year after. He explained then that I had asked him to do a survey (at a time in the past) before but that he’d refused. He was bi-polar, “I’ve seen you around but when I get down I don’t want to talk to anyone.” I told him no worries.  “Appreciate it, you’re a blessing,” he said again and reached out and shook my hand. I said he was welcome and I’d see him in Heaven and he headed off to his computer science class.

Sebastian was sitting on the second floor of the PE lounge not far from the elevator the workout area on the other side of a half wall behind him. He was a good-looking guy, dark hair and beard with one of those beauty marks (or so they’re called on women) moles on his right cheek above his neatly trimmed beard. His hair was short yet kind of curly.  He wore a black hoodie and black sweats. I asked him what he would say to God if he died and was asked, “Why should I let you into Heaven. “I’ve been a Christian my whole life, that’s not what I would say though.  I would say that I’ve lived a virtuous—not too religious, but religious principles, everyday things. Even if I didn’t go to church all the time I tried to follow the Christian way.” He thought he had a 100% chance of going to Heaven. I began to go through the Christian life with him and I asked him what the big thing was that God had done to take away the sins of the world with Jesus. He said, “He forgives you?” and something about confession I did not quite hear. I said that He did forgive and this was how it worked. I began to explain how God became a man, Jesus, and He lived a perfect life. I explained that we were all to live a perfect life but we could not do it so Jesus lived a perfect life for us, had died and that His blood cleansed us and paid for our sin. Then I explained that the righteousness of God Christ earned was to our credit. “You don’t go to Heaven because you’re good but because Jesus is good and your connected to Him. Like if you marry a millionaire you got a million bucks or if you get adopted into a billionaire’s family you get to live in the mansion and drive the cars. So God adopts us and gives us the blessings of His family. He gives us the sacrifice for your sins the blood that cleanses us, and the righteousness of God that surrounds us. So you got some place to go: Heaven. And something to wear when you get there: the righteousness of God.” I explained he was saved by faith and asked him if he wanted to be forgiven for his sins trusting in what Jesus had done so God could live in him and give him strength.” “Definitely that,” he replied. So I said there was a prayer he could pray if he wanted to be forgiven. I read it through for him and asked if it was the desire of his heart. He said it was with a “yeah.” I said if he wanted he could pray it silently and he nodded and took the booklet and asked, “Can I keep this?” I said, “Sure” but asked if he’d want to pray and he nodded and prayed to receive Christ. He was smiling then, happy, and I gave him Bible Promises for You writing his name and the date and “Forgiven!” in the front. I gave him The Case for Easter and a Bible study. I knew he had to study and I told him also I would pray a Bible verse for him each day from now until Spring and one year after. He thanked me. “Thanks for your time,” I said getting up to leave. He gave me an uplifted hand with the 5-finger spread and said, “God bless you,” and gave me a big smile and I headed off.

So thanks for your prayers for the ministry and for evangelism today if you had a chance, God truly blessed.

In Him,

Bob
