Hey Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

I Hope your day was blessed today with life and peace. I had a good day on campus and Julie and Leslie each prayed with me to receive Jesus today so that was great. I’d be grateful if you would pray for God to bless them in their new found trust in the blood and righteousness of Jesus. Their stories are below if ya got the time. Thanks for your prayers.

Julie was sitting in the hallway near the book store entrance in one of a few chairs surrounding a round ottoman. She had a round face and had square large metal lenses for glasses. She wore a white cardigan sweater over a black shirt and had torn jeans on. She was a sweet person and had long dark hair of a Latina pulled back into a pony tail. She said she and her family had gotten away from going to church the last few years. I asked her what she would say to God if asked, “Why should I let you into Heaven?” She said, “I’ve actually helped a lot of people not to commit suicide—I think that’s God’s way of letting me know I’m doing a good thing.” I asked her if she worked a suicide hot line or something but it seems like these situations had just kind of come her way. But of course doing a good thing does not get you into Heaven. She thought the likelihood she would go to Heaven was 90%. I asked her what Jesus had done to take away her sins but she could not remember as I went through the Gospel. But she connected well with the verses and examples and what I said. I asked her if she would want to be forgiven for her sins and she said “I would.” I said if she wanted to be forgiven there was a prayer she could pray and I talked her through it. She said something like, “I pray that every night.” So I said that it was good she prayed every night but this would be a prayer where she was asking God be forgiven based on what Jesus had done to take away her sins. And I asked her if she’d want to pray telling God she was trusting now in what Jesus had done for her to be forgiven. “Honestly yeah,” she replied. I said she could pray silently and she took the booklet and prayed to receive Christ. I explained the Christian life to her then living by the Spirit’s power. I told her that now trusting in the righteousness of Christ to be her righteousness the likelihood she would go to Heaven was 100%. I gave Bible Promises for You writing her name and the date and “forgiven!” on the inside. I gave her The Case for Christ Answer Booklet and a Bible study. “Thank you so much,” she said. “And thank you for all this as well.” holding the books and Bible Study in her hand. “I can’t wait to look at it and I also can’t wait to show it to my parents, it’s been so long.’ By that I think she meant since they had been going to church. I asked if she’d like another Bible promise book for them and she happily said yes so I gave her one telling her she could write their names in the front and give it to them from her. She thanked me again and I headed off.

Leslie was sitting in the cafeteria. I walked past her since it was free popcorn day and I had a mouth full, but I felt like God wanted me to ask her. So I stopped at a table past her and folded closed the top of my popcorn bag and walked back to talk to her. Most people are not interested but she said she’d do a survey so we began to talk. She has blonde highlights framing her very pretty face, brown hair. She looked white but later said she was from a Latino family. She had a freckle on her right cheek in just the right place, sharp features and wore a dark brown crop top and light gray sweats. She had gone to church when she was younger. But though she had not been for a while she read short devotionals often. When I asked her what she would say to God to get into Heaven she said, “I would probably say… I don’t know. I try to be the best person I can be every day. I try to help other people when I can.” She thought the likelihood she would get into Heaven was 80%. When I asked her what Jesus had done to take away her sins she remembered He had died. She listened to the Gospel attentively and I asked her if she would want to be forgiven or thought something else. “The first one,” she said like it was the obvious choice. I said then there was a prayer she could pray and talked her through it. She said that she was from a Spanish speaking background and she had heard that prayer before but in her head it was in Spanish. I asked her if she would like to pray it now telling God she wanted to be forgiven trusting in Jesus. “Ok, it seems weird in the cafeteria right now but…” and she began to pray aloud. No one was sitting near to us so I just waited until she was done and said, “Now you know you are forgiven trusting in Jesus.” I explained living the Christian life by the Spirit’s power and gave her a copy of 20 Things God Can’t Do since she liked reading. I explained everything the author was suggesting she do she could do by the Spirit’s power and wrote that in the front. I put her name and the date and “forgiven!” in the front. I also gave her a Bible Study to read. I told her I would pray for her each night from now until spring and then for the next school year asking God to bless her. She was grateful and I said if I saw her again I would just say hi. “Thank you,” she said as I got up to go. I said something like thanks for talking with me and headed out.

So thanks for your prayers for the ministry and for evangelism today if you had a chance God truly bless and two very nice girls trusted in Jesus.

In Him,

Bob
