Results of the Work – 3/4/22

Hey Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

I hope you had a great day and if in Chicago can get out in the warmth tomorrow. I had a good day on campus and Tireh [ pronounced: tur I ] Prayed with me to receive Jesus today. He was the only student I went through the gospel with though I gave a book to Juan who had heard it from me before and now is being drawn closer to God it seems. I’d be grateful for your prayers for these guys. Tireh’s story is below if you wish to take the time.

Tireh was sitting in a row of chairs at the entrance to the café with a girl I had gone through the Gospel with before that was not interested. But we said hi in the hall so I asked Tireh if he wanted to do a survey saying she had done it. He was willing. He wore a horizontal stripped polo shirt with a vest on and dress pants. He had a zippered jacket around his waist and might have had to dress up for a speech class or something. He had white trainers on his feet. Looked a bit like an African politician somehow. But he was American. He had a rough afro and a curly beard about a half inch off his face, but looked young, good-looking guy. When I asked what he would say to God to get into Heaven he said, “I’ve done everything I could to help others. I’ve always trusted and believed.” He thought he had a 70% chance of getting in. As I went through the Gospel with Him he did not seem to know what Jesus had done to take away his sin when I asked. As I finished explaining that Jesus had died for him and that was how He was paid for what we owed him he exclaimed “Oh!” I went on to tell him of the Righteousness of God to his credit and that he needed to receive this by faith. I asked him if he would want to be forgiven for his sins trusting in what Jesus had done or thought something else and he said, “Be forgiven.” I explained the prayer to him and asked if it was the desire of his heart and he nodded. I said he could pray it right then and he would he want to and he said, “Yeah,” and he prayed to receive Jesus. I explained living the Christian life, “inside out” by the Spirit’s power and explained the fruit of the Spirit. I handed him the booklet then and he said, “Thank you so much.” Then I gave him Bible Promises for You writing his name and the date and “forgiven!” on the inside and I gave him a Bible study to do. I said I would keep him in my prayers and said now trusting in the Righteousness of Jesus to be his righteousness the likelihood he would go to Heaven was 100%. The girl interrupted with something about our Bible study and he tucked the things I’d given him into his pack and stood up to go after another girl who he’d put off to do the survey. She had walked into the Cafeteria. “Thanks so much Bob,” he said getting up to leave. I said he was welcome and made my way off down the hall.

May God bless your weekend, thanks for your prayers and help with the ministry and Evangelism.

In Him,

Bob
