Hey Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

I hope your day was blessed with all good things. I had a good day on campus and Matteo prayed to receive Jesus today.  I got a good seed planted with Jamie who took the student edition of The Case for Christ to read. She was up on the third floor and wore a blue hoodie from a college, black shredded skinny jeans (popular this year) and had long brown thin hair and sharp features, kind of a serious face but it lit up when she smiled. As I left her and she shook my hand and said, “Thank you for speaking to me.” Raised Lutheran as a kid she’d taken a few religion courses at school and didn’t quite know where to land. I encouraged her to pray and ask for God’s guidance, that He loved her, “I’m not just making that up it’s in the Bible,” I said with a grin.  I explained he wouldn’t just leave us to guess at the truth but would leave some bread crumbs to follow. She’d heard of Strobel so I hope she’ll read the book. I’ll be praying for her.

Matteo was sitting in the hall way on the third floor waiting to go into class. He was slight in build, had blonde, naturally curly hair tied behind his head in a fist sized lump. He wore tan skinny jeans and a blue button down color plan shirt. He said he had been to church only two times in his life. He thought he had about a 75% chance of going to heaven. When I asked him what he would say to God to get into heaven he mused the question with a, Hmmm and smiled. He then said, “I guess I would say I want to see my family.” I went through the Gospel with him and he didn’t know what Jesus had dome to take away his sins. I explained the death and resurrection of Christ and how His Blood cleansed us so God could live inside us having removed our sins and how his righteousness was to our credit. He gave some words of assent as I went through saying he understood. I asked if he would want to be forgiven for his sins or thought something else and he said, “I would want to be forgiven.” So I asked, “Do you believe Jesus is God He died for your sins and rose from the dead, do you believe that’s true?” He thought for a moment and then said he did saying “Yes,” as if he’d was just discovering it. I said if he believed that was true he could place his trust in it to be forgiven. He said, “Ok,” then like he followed the one thing came from the other. I explained there was a prayer he could pray if he wanted so only God would hear and He would forgive him and live inside him. I talked him through the prayer and asked if it was the desire of his heart. “”Um, yeah,” he said in response. I asked if he’d like to pray silently then and he said “OK” and prayed to receive Christ. I explained the Christian life living “inside out” by the Spirit’s power and gave him a Bible showing him the Where to Turn section and the one on Messianic Passages. I wrote his name and the date and “forgiven” on the inside of the Bible. I explained the likelihood he would go to Heaven now, trusting in the righteousness of Jesus, was 100%. I also gave him The Case for Christianity Answer Book. I felt like he’d need some information having so little background. As I wrote his name in it people began to file into his class room. He stood up and shook my hand and said, “I gotta go to class it was really nice to talk to you.” “Nice to talk to you too,” I replied. And he headed inside. I’ve seen him there before class before so I’ll look for him again to give him a Bible Study.

So thanks for your prayers for the ministry and for evangelism today if you had a chance, God blessed the work.

In Him,

Bob
