Hey Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

I hope your day was blessed. I had a good day on campus and a girl Taylor prayed to receive Christ. She was sitting on a bench in the Mac Arts Building lounge beside the elevator. She had straight blonde hair a cute oval face and wore grey-blue sweats and a gray sweatshirt with a college on the front, bling stud earrings. She went to an evangelical church in Elgin. She was a kind friendly person and thought of herself as a Christian, coached hockey. When I asked her what she would say to God if He asked her why he should let her into Heaven she said, “Because I do more giving back to people than receiving… it helps your soul.” She thought she had about an 85% chance of going to Heaven. She was familiar with some of the verses in the Gospel but had not seemed to put it all together. When I asked her how God forgave her sins she said, “I tell Him what I’ve done.” She continued on to say basically that God was magnanimous, that He wanted her to be open about her sins and that was kind of it, it was a bit vague. I said the bible did say that if we confess our sins He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness but that there was a reason God could forgive us and I went on to tell her the Gospel of the Cross and the imputed righteousness of Christ. She agreed with all I showed her and she wanted to be forgiven. So I asked her if when she did something wrong and asked for forgiveness if she had been thinking she was the kind of person God forgave, “she tried to do good things and went to church?” She agreed that was true. I said she’d probably known the story of Christ dying for her but asked if she had been trusting in that for her forgiveness. If she had not yet done so she could place her trust in Christ by praying a prayer and I walked her through it saying she could pray it silently and she did.  I explained the Christian life living “Inside Out”. Saying the difference between the Christian life and other religions was that, “In other religions you did good things on the outside and the deity is please with you and takes you to Heaven or the Universe is pleased with you and you don’t come back as a cow, which isn’t really true anyway. But in Christianity you ask God to change you on the inside, you become a good woman and then do good things on the outside by His power.” I Gave her 20 Things God Can’t Do writing her name and the date saying that was the day she had been forgiven and writing “By the Spirit’s Power” in the front. And explained that if she trusted in the righteousness of Christ to be her righteousness the likelihood she would go to Heaven was 100%. She was interested in the Bible study and I gave her one to read. I got her email. I got up to go and she said, “Bye, thanks so much. I’ll be looking for your email then I’ll stop by [the bible study]. Have a good day!” “Thanks you too,” I replied. And she said “Thanks.”

So thanks for your prayers for the ministry and for evangelism today if you had a chance, God truly blessed.

In Him,

Bob
