Hey Sisters and Brothers in Christ,

I hope your day was blessed walking in the Spirit of Christ, I had a good day on campus and Michelle and Brian prayed with me to receive Christ. Julian a guy who was a year and 7 months sober through a 12 step program heard the Gospel for the first time in his life having never been to Church and took a copy of The Case for Christ to read.

Michelle was sitting on the floor in a north south connecting hall in the BIC. She had light brown hair pulled up behind her head with a trickle of bangs coming down, wearing a white fleece and gray leggings. She had a pretty sweet face and a nice smile. She went to a Lutheran church all her life and said her parents were “very religious”.  She wanted to “do something good with my life, something substantial, really help people.” When I asked her what she would say to God if He asked why He should let her into heaven she said, “‘I don’t know man. That’s Your job, you’re supposed to know if I made the cut.’ We’re taught the Bible but at the end of the day it’s not up to us.” “If you have done enough to merit it?” I asked. She agreed so I told her of Christ saying to people who had cast out demons in His name and done miracles and prophesied in His name, “I never knew you”. It seems like people often do things for the wrong reasons I suggested and she agreed. When I asked her the % likelihood she would go to heaven she said, “I don’t think I’m a bad person. 50/50 I guess you know yourself.” I began to go through the Gospel with her and she knew Jesus had died to take away our sins. She listened to the Gospel and said she’d want to be forgiven. So I said she could pray a prayer to receive God’s forgiveness telling Him she trusted by faith. She wanted to pray and silently did. I explained the Christian life to her living inside out, writing “By the Spirit’s Power” along with her name and the date she was forgiven in the front of 20 Things God Can’t Do. I had to rush as we were sitting on the floor right outside her classroom and the hall clock said I had little time. I also gave her a Bible study. She was happy and more so when I refereed back to the righteousness of Christ that was to her credit and said that if she was trusting in His righteousness the likelihood she would go to heaven was 100%. She stood and smiled brightly saying, Thank you so much. Have a great day!” I touched her shoulder and said I would see her in Heaven and she happily walked into class.

It was a warm day and Brian was sitting on the lawn just off the sidewalk looking down on the outdoor theater outside the Mac Arts Building. I always wonder how kids sit there very long as the grass is always damp down at the soil from the auto sprinklers. My jeans had soaked it in one spot as I rose to leave later. Brian was sitting in gray sweats and a white sweatshirt, maybe the water took longer to soak through them, they were thick. He had a dark friendly face pretty short afro, a kind Teddy bear sort of face with some smattering of less than uniform facial hair. He said he’d like to someday “inspire a large group of people to pursue their dreams” When I asked him what he would say to God to get into Heaven he said, “Compared to most other people I probably did a lot of good, I didn’t leave a lot of evil or malice down in the world, tried to do my part to make the world a better place.” He also thought he’d have a 50/50 shot at Heaven. He knew that Jesus had “sacrificed” Himself to take away our sins and he listened to the Gospel and the illustrations closely and wanted to be forgiven. He said he’d gone to an Evangelical Church when he was younger so I asked, “Do you believe Jesus was God He died for your sins and rose from the Dead?” “I believe He was God,” he replied so I said if he wanted to trust in that to be forgiven there was a prayer he could pray saying he could pray it silently where God would hear his thoughts, he was willing and took the booklet. “Just pretend I’m not even here,” I said. And he prayed aloud to receive Christ. He did not have his own Bible so I gave him one showing him the “Where to turn section” and writing his name in the front and the date he’d been forgiven. I gave him a Bible study and 20 Things God Can’t Do writing by the Spirit’s Power in the front. He only had a work email he looked at so I said if he had any questions he had mine. I explained that if he’d trust in the righteousness of Jesus to be his righteousness the likelihood he would go to heaven was 100%. I got up to go saying I see him in Heaven and he smiled and said, “Have a nice day.” and I headed off.

So thanks for your prayers for the ministry and for evangelism today if you had a chance, God truly blessed the work.

In Him,

Bob
