Hey Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

I hope ya had a blessed day walking in the Light of Gods word. I had a good day on campus and Thalia and Damian each prayed with me to receive Christ. Ronnie a girl from an African heritage was close but her ride came, she was small and had long braids and a pretty little face and wore a plaid flannel over shirt. Please pray these grow in faith and are drawn closer to God in Christ.

Thalia [tale ee ah] was sitting on a row of chairs in the BIC, down the hall a bit from the tunnel entrance out of the PE building. She was wearing a black hoodie with white printing on it I never made out and grey leggings. She had long naturally curly hair nearly to her elbows pulled back flat on her head and fastened in back. She had a cute wider face and a small chin.  She wanted to travel the world and had always been interested in ancient Greece. I asked her, “You’re walking down the road and you get hit by a bus. So you’re dead. And you stand before God and he says, “Why should I let you into Heaven?’ What would you say?” “I always put others before myself.” She replied promptly. She thought she had an 80% chance of going to Heaven. I asked if she went to church. “I’ve been thinking I wanted to go back,” she replied. I was glad to hear that as I felt like this meant God was drawing her to Himself. She was waiting for the guy that showed up. He seemed to be a boyfriend.  But on arriving he was consumed by his phone and not pressuring the conversation to end or hearing it. She’d said she had a couple more minutes to go through the Gospel. I asked her what Jesus had done to take away the sins of the world and she said, “He was laid out on the cross.” She listened to everything closely and was engaged and smiling. I got to swiftly go through everything I usually say about the blood and righteousness of Christ and receiving Him by faith, clipping it a bit. The guy waiting for her was just over her shoulder and I could see his phone held him fast. I asked if she would want to be forgiven for her sins or thought something else. “I’d like to be forgiven,” she replied. I said if she wanted to be forgiven there was a prayer she could pray and I talked her through it and asked if it expressed the desire of her heart. She nodded it did. So I said if she wanted she could pray it silently right now and know she was forgiven. “Wanna do it,” I asked. She nodded and took the booklet and prayed to receive Jesus. I explained quickly living by the Spirit’s power. I gave her Bible Promises for You and wrote her name and the date and forgiven in the front. Then I quickly handed her The Case for Christ Answer Booklet and a Bible study and said I would pray a Bible verse for her each day from now until Spring and one year after asking God to bless her. “Thank you,” she said in kind of cheerful musical tone. I thanked her for her time and she said “Thank you,” again in the same light way and headed off. She’s a sweet kid.

Damian was sitting at the counter in the cafeteria eating peperoni pizza. He had short stick hair that sat on his head like a cap, perfect eyebrows and a caterpillar mustache. He had on blue loose fitting shorts and a red striped sleeve Adidas workout jacket. He had almond shaped eyes and a sharp statuesque nose. He had the coloring of a Latino. He was friendly and engaged and kept chomping his pizza as we talked. He wanted to travel the world and see Spain. I asked him, “You’re walking down the road and you get hit by a bus. So you’re dead. And you stand before God and he says, “Why should I let you into Heaven?’ What would you say?”  “I would say, um, that I tried to do so many good things in the world.” I asked him what he thought the percentage likelihood was he would go to Heaven. “40/60,” he said. He said he went to church once in a while. I went through the Gospel saying God wanted to live inside him, I asked asked if he knew what the big thing was that Jesus had done back in History to take away the sins of the world. He thought for a bit but could not think of anything. So I went on to explain the rest of the Gospel. He was friendly and receptive and listened. Saying a word here and there of acknowledgement. After explaining the blood and righteousness of Christ and receiving Him by faith I asked if he would want to be forgiven for his sins trusting in what Christ had done. Then He would live inside him with the Holy Spirit and give him strength. Or did he think something else and I gave him a couple sentence explanations of Islam and Buddhism. He thought for a while weighing it out and then said, “I’d like to be forgiven.” I said if he wanted to be forgiven there was a prayer he could pray and I talked him through it and asked if it expressed the desire of his heart. He said it did and so I asked if he’d want to pray it silently. “Sure,” he said I handed him the booklet and he took it and prayed to receive Jesus. I began to go through the Christian life with him. He didn’t have a Bible so I gave him one showing the ribbon was in John to read and what was inside. I wrote his name and the date and “forgiven!” in the front. I said I would pray for him from now until Spring and one year after asking God to bless him. I gave him Bible Promises for you and The Case for Christ Answer Booklet. “Thank you,” he said as I got up to go. “Nice to meet you,” I replied. “Nice to meet you too, thank you,” he said and I headed off.

So thanks for your prayers for the ministry and for evangelism today if you had a chance. God truly blessed.

In Him,

Bob
