Results of the Work – 4/5/22

Hey Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

I hope your day was blessed with all good things from God’s kind hand. Liz prayed with me to receive Christ today. Please pray for her to come to increased conviction about her bad choices and for the word of Christ to take root in her life and produce fruit. Her story is below if you have the time. Another girl Alex polish from the border of Ukraine thanked me saying, “I actually learned a lot.” She felt like Christ was in her. I think she came to understand the Gospel really for the first time. She knew Jesus had died for her but had been appealing to her works until after I explained everything so I will pray for her.

Liz was sitting in the hallway on a row of chairs seeming to wait for class to begin. She wore skinny jeans, had a long oval face and round bottom student glasses, straight brown hair past her shoulders. She had a child, I believe a daughter, and her mom brought the little girl to church without her. She looked 19 or 20. The father was in the picture, was her boyfriend. Nice kid. I asked her what she would say to God if he asked “Why should I let you into Heaven.” “Hmm, that’s a tough one,” She replied. I don’t know.” I asked her if she went to church when she was a kid, she said she had and so I asked what she thought they would say gets you into Heaven. “Putting all your faith in God,” she replied. She thought she had a 75% chance of getting into Heaven. She knew Jesus had died to take away our sins. As I explained the Gospel she asked, “What if you make bad choices?” I said, “About half the people in the Bible make bad choices. I had a Navy Seal tell me once, when I said God could forgive him, ‘You don’t know what I’ve done.’ I asked him if he had ever gone into a small village and killed every man woman and child and every animal and run off with their stuff. He said, ‘No.’ I said David did that and God forgave him.”  She had made a run of recent bad choices; she hoped her boyfriend would forgive her. It seemed she thought it was a trend of late. She’d invited another guy over who had worked on her car for her. Nothing had happened except her boyfriend had discovered it. She said she felt like the car repair boy was more her type than her boyfriend. I said for the sake of her daughter that decision was already made and there were sacrifices you have to make when you have children. She agreed saying she had not gotten any good advice about it.  I told her the solution to making bad choices was to ask God to live inside her and help her make the right choices. I explained that God could make all things work together for good for those who loved Him. She needed to choose to be forgiven trusting in what Christ had done with God inside her and ask God to work. I asked if she’d want to be forgiven for her sins. And she said she did. I said if she wanted to be forgiven there was a prayer she could pray and after explaining it I asked if it was the desire of her heart. She said it was and I said she could pray it silently. “To myself,” she said. I said, “Yeah talking to God.” And she prayed to receive Jesus. I explained living the Christian life “inside out”. A guy who had been leering at me from across the hall interrupted then asking some things about who I was, trying to make it clear he did not think I should be talking to people about God. I told him I had permission to be there and carried a letter and the cops knew who I was. He did not like the answer and said something about not really asking if I had permission, though he clearly was. “Do they know you are walking around proselytizing?” he asked. I said that I had a lawyer had taken the steps necessary and yes they knew. He was older, 23 maybe a well groomed bearded, larger guy. I was concerned not to put a bad end on my conversation with Liz so I did my best to disengage with him. He ruined the last of the time I had with Liz, at least in any way of getting more of her story. I gave her Bible Promises for You and wrote her name and the date and “forgiven” in the front. I told her I would pray for her for the next year and she thanked me. I headed out.

So thanks for your prayers for the ministry and for evangelism today if you had a chance God truly blessed.

In Him,

Bob
