Hey Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

I hope your day is being blessed and you are resting in Him, every day is the Sabbath rest in Christ (Hebrews 4).  Nicholas and Manuella each prayed to receive Jesus today. Please pray for them. Their stories are below if you have the time.

Nicholas was sitting in a lounge a picture of which came into my mind to go to when I first came to campus. I think this was from the Lord. I went straight there and he was sitting in the corner by the windows of an atrium lounge on the 1st floor of the BIC the SE end of the building. He had a mop of hair like the character Shaggy in the Scooby Doo kids show. I never saw his face completely but he was wearing a red bandanna sewed into a mask and had a red t-shirt on, glasses and jeans. He was typing what looked to be a long text on a tablet. He said he had gone to Catholic school through the 8th grade when it had become too expensive. He went to church each week. When I asked him what he would say to God to if he died to get into Heaven he said, “That’s a tough one.” Then thinking more he said, “I’d ask ‘Why are you here for me? What did I do that you’re here’.” It seemed like he did not expect to meet God immediately for some kind of Judgment but it would transpire another way. So I asked him what he thought he would have to do on earth to get into Heaven. “Live a good life, respect others treating them the way you would want to be treated.” he said. He knew Jesus had died to take away our sins and thought he had a 40% chance of going to Heaven. He was a nice guy and tuned right in to the Gospel, responding with a word or a laugh as I laid it out for him. I explained that the Blood of Jesus, like what was symbolic in the mass, had cleansed us from all sin and the bread was Jesus body broken on the cross from him and when he took it he should just say thank you because that meant he was forgiven. I finished all I say and asked if he would want to be forgiven for his sins trusting in Jesus or thought something else. “I would want to be forgiven, wouldn’t everyone?” he replied. I said if he had never told God he would want to be forgiven there was a prayer he could pray. I talked him through it and asked if it was the desire of his heart and he said, “Pretty close.” I said if he wanted to he could pray it silently and know he was forgiven. “Yeah I could pray that,” he replied and he took the booklet and prayed to receive Jesus. I explained living the Christian life trusting in the Holy Spirit’s transforming power.  He did not have a Bible so I gave him one and showed him the “Where to Turn” section putting the ribbon marker in that spot. I also showed him the messianic passages and wrote his name and the date and “forgiven!” in the front. I gave him The Case for Christianity Answer Booklet saying there was some things in it for Easter. I gave him a Bible Study on the Deity of Christ. I said I would keep him in my prayers for the next year and he said, “I’ll pray for you too.” I thanked him and he said, “Thank you, this is all very informative.” I got up and headed out.

Right before a class Manuella was going to go to with Jay, the guy sitting next to her on the 3rd floor of the BIC, I walked up. He had orange brown hair that went straight up in a high afro, she had multiple braids. She wore a green hoodie and colorful sweat pants that looked randomly spot dyed, mostly white.  Both wore masks so I never saw their faces. I asked her if she wanted to do a survey. She said she was about to go to class so I said would you like to just answer the big question she said ok. She said she was in another Bible Study and I got the impression Jay might be going too. When I asked her if she died and stood before God and he asked “Why should I let you into Heaven?” she said, “That’s a tough one.” I knew she would only have a minute and I wanted her to hear enough to understand so I asked what she thought it was got her into Heaven. She said you had to keep the Passover and believe in God. I explained that Jesus fulfills the Passover talking about the blood on the door posts in the Exodus Story was now Jesus blood and He was the Passover lamb. I said in Hebrews 4 Jesus fulfills the Sabbath, that Sabbath just means “rest” which they both seemed to know and now we find out rest in Him. I explained the righteousness of God Jesus earned by perfectly fulfilling the law and said His righteousness could be hers by faith. Jay missed some of the analogy taking his backpack to class. I explained God’s forgiveness and she really tuned in. He came back from across the hall where there class had begun. I asked if she’d like to be forgiven explaining she could be forgiven by faith. She said she did and I explained the prayer to her and she prayed to receive Jesus. I gave them both copies of the booklet. Jay wanted one and was very interested. They each took Bible Promises for You.  I wrote Jay’s name in his and asked for her spelling to get it right putting the date and “forgiven” in the front. I hope to bump into them again to explain more to them, as I am afraid they might be in one of the Heterodox groups on campus. She said she had a Bible from yet another group. Christians on Camus gives them out. They quickly stood up and I apologized for making them late and they said, “No problem,” and disappeared into class.

So thanks for your prayers for the ministry and for evangelism today if you had a chance. God truly blessed.

In Him,

Bob
