Hey Sisters and Brothers in Christ,

I hope you had a great day walking with the Lord and God truly blessed. I had a pretty good day on campus as   DJ prayed to receive Jesus. Fabian committed to Christ to trust in Him, having been trusting in his works. He said he would probably pray tonight. He was a big Mexican dude with a beard only on his jaw line and chin, round face wearing a ball cap in the Lunch room. I had some good conversations. Also giving The Case for Christianity Answer Booklet to Robert who had been burned by his church growing up.

DJ was sitting on a counter and when I first came in the PE lounge. The place was kinda mobbed so I went upstairs thinking I’d hang out a bit until it thinned out and maybe I could find someone sitting apart from the fray on the counter. There was a class in the lounge upstairs. So when I turned around and headed back to the stairs, I could see it had dissipated on the ground floor and only two guys were near the counter, DJ on it.  Here a couple guys have received Jesus this year, a bit away from the main run of tables. (Ron a guy yesterday, afro bad skin, said he’d think about praying later sitting on the counter too. A girl had jumped in on that conversation unfortunately and spirited him off to class with her like she was his mom, kind of a drag but he wouldn’t have let her drag him off if he didn’t want to.) One if the guys walked away as I headed down the long flight of stairs and DJ was left so I asked if he’d do a survey. He was up for it. He had 8 inch braids out the top back of a couple inch afro, his beard was mostly on the jaw line but he had a thin MJ kind of mustache and wore black jeans and a hoodie. He had kind of traditional black features, looked like a tough dude. When I asked him what he would say to God to get into Heaven he said, “I don’t know… that’s actually a hard question, I’d actually have to think it over.” He did then for a bit but landed on that he didn’t know what to say. He thought he had about a 75% chance of going to Heaven. It turned out he had gone to Catholic High School I think to play football, he was ranked as a Defensive Tackle out of school (11th) but had been a running back at first in college and now was back at DE. He hadn’t been to church since he was young. This information came out as I talked. He said he prayed to God as I went through the Gospel. I went through the Gospel with him and asked if he’d want to be forgiven trusting in Christ and not his good works or thought something else. “Forgiven,” he replied frankly. I said if he wanted to place his trust in Christ so that he’d know he was forgiven there was a prayer he could pray and I talked him through it. I asked if it was the desire of his heart. He looked at it and said, “Yes.” So I said he could pray it silently “I wouldn’t hear it but God wild hear and he’d be forgiven.”  “I have my own prayers I pray,” He said. I said that was fine but this was not a prayer you pray every day, it was a onetime thing to trust in Jesus. Saying he hadn’t been trusting in Jesus before for salvation as it had come out as we talked. I said it’s kind of like some girl he knew in High School that he just hung around with and one day he just sidled up to her and said, When are we going to Prom? And she looks back and says, As soon as you ask me… maybe. God likes to be asked. He laughed at that and I gave him another analogy asking who his favorite Bears player was. He says, Khalil Mack.  I say that Khalil Mack bumps into us at school doing a talk here for say no to drugs or something and we got Bears stuff on so he offered us skybox tickets as some friends of his that can’t make the game that night. He gets our names and says he’ll leave them at the Gate. We go to the gate, give our names and the woman at the gate says, Who left you the tickets? We are like, Oh Khalil Mack. She says,  I could have 15 DJ’s and Bob’s in here, you gotta say the name of who bought the tickets.  I explained that to get into the sky box you have to say the name of who left you the tickets and since he was not praying in Jesus name or asking for salvation, trusting in Him, he was not saved, He liked that story and agreed to pray and ask I held the book he did. He crossed himself as he finished. I gave him a Bible writing his name and the date and “forgiven” in the front showing him the “Where to Turn” section and the one with Messianic passages. I told him if he was trusting in the righteousness of Jesus to be his righteousness the likelihood he would get it Heaven was 100%. I also gave him 20 Things God Can’t Do writing Just ask and By the Spirit’s Power in the front. I told him I would pray for him until spring of 2021. He wanted to get in the League, so I said I would pray about that too. “Thank you,” he said as I got up to go. He’d been grateful as we talked. “Yeah God bless you man,” I replied. “God bless you,” he said and I headed out.

So thanks for your prayers for the ministry and for evangelism today if you had a chance God blessed.

In Him,

Bob
