Hey Sisters and Brothers in Christ,

I hope your day was blessed and you had some Joy. I had a good day on campus in as much as Salma prayed with me to receive Christ. I only went through the Gospel with one other person today a Hindu guy so I got one seed planted. I help a guy with sources for his research paper for a while, he was writing on the gift of Tongues and said hey to some peeps. We had a big group at the last Bible study tonight so that was fun.

Salma was sitting at a table in the science lounge in the corner on the other side of some railings from the hallway as you come into the lounge, her head was level with my feet. I leaned over and asked if she’d do a student survey and she said, “Ok” after checking how long it would take. So I vaulted over the railings and landed standing on a couch. I left my bag there within reach and sat on a chair beside her and her computer and study materials on the table. She was wearing multi colored lace up leather Keds, skinny jeans and a hoodie. Pretty, long brown hair and face, she looked a lot like Annette Funicello. She said she was Spanish in family background from back in the day and wanted to visit Spain. It turned out she went to Compass Church in Bolingbrook. When I asked her what she would say to God to get into heaven she thought for a bit with an “Umm” and a “Hmm” and finally said a little unsure, “Because everyone gets a second chance.” She thought she had a 50/50 change to get into heaven. I began to go through the Gospel with her and asked her what the big thing was that Jesus had done to take away her sins and she said, “He forgives you?” So I explained that everything belongs to God so when we damage ourselves or someone else or anything in the world we own God for it so he has to get paid. But that didn’t clue her into talking about the atonement so I just began to explain everything to her. How Jesus had lived a perfect life for us, died for our sins and his blood cleansed us so God could live inside us and His righteousness was to our credit. I asked when I finished saying how she needed to believe Jesus was God had died for her sins and rose from ether dead and place her trust in that. I asked if she wanted to be forgiven for her sins trusting in Jesus or thought something else. “Be forgiven,” she replied. “Well, it seems like you haven’t had a chance to put all this together before right?” She nodded and agreed. So I explained if she wanted to be forgiven for her sins she could pray a prayer and ask for forgiveness and God would forgive her and live inside her. I talked her through it and asked if it was the desire of her heart and she said it was. I said she could pray so only God could hear and she nodded and took the booklet and prayed to receive Jesus. I went on to explain the Christian life and living by the Spirit. I gave her a Bible study on the deity of Christ. I gave her 20 Things God Can’t Do and explained how everything God was asking her to do He’d give her the power to do by the Spirit inside her. I wrote “By the Spirit’s Power” and “Just ask” and her name and the Date and “forgiven” in the front. I told her since she was now trusting in the righteousness of Jesus to be her righteousness the likelihood she would go to Heaven was 100%.  I got her email to send her some stuff and said, “Well it seems like you got a good church.” saying I knew Jeff her pastor a little and she said, “Yeah.” So I said I’d be praying for her all through next year and she was grateful and I left her and had Joy.

So thanks for your prayers for the ministry and for evangelism today if you had a chance God truly blessed.

In Him,

Bob
