Hey Sisters and Brothers in Christ,
I hope your day was blessed and if you live near me you are bracing for the next cold snap this weekend. The lake keeps us warm longer in fall and cold longer in spring I guess. I had a good day on campus and Erick prayed with me to receive Jesus.
Erick was sitting in a line of chairs and benches along the wall outside the cafeteria. He was wearing dark blue shorts and a t-shirt of the same color. He had a mop of dark hair, short and slight he looked Latino with a Roman nose. He said he went to a Christian church pretty often. When I asked him what he would say to God to get into heaven he said, “I don’t know if saying something would get you into Heaven, I think it’s your actions from before.” He was sure he would get into heaven however, 100%. He liked the illustrations and I asked him, “How does God take away your sin?” Auspiciously so He can live inside you and he said, “I don’t know, because I died?” I went on to explain the Gospel then and he took it all in and believed. I asked him if he would want to be forgiven for his sins with God living inside him or if he thought something else and he said, “I would want to be forgiven.” I walked him through the prayer and asked if that expressed the desire of his heart and he said, “Pretty much.” So I said he could pray it then silently to receive forgiveness and he said, “Can I do it in my head?” And I said, “For sure.” He was thankful it seemed then and so I went on to explain living inside out saying in Christianity we don’t do good things on the outside to transform us on the inside we ask God to transform us on the inside and become good men and do good things on the outside. He didn’t have a Bible so I gave him one and showed him the “Where to Turn” section which he liked since it gives you places to turn. I wrote his name and the date and “forgiven” under it. I gave him 20 Things God Can’t Do and wrote “By the Spirits Power” in the front explaining that anything God was asking him to do he would given him the power to do. I also gave him a Bible Study. “Thanks,” he said getting up to leave. I said maybe I’d see him in heaven and he smiled at that and said, “Have a good one.” “Thanks, you too man.” I replied and headed into the cafeteria.
So Thanks for your prayers for the ministry and for evangelism today if you had a chance. God blessed.
In Him,
Bob
