Hey Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

I hope ya had a good day and were free from grief, knowing God’s love. I had a good day on campus and the authorities did not contact me. I got a couple of seeds planted and Arielle and Slone each prayed with me to receive Jesus as their Savior. Please pray a blessing on them. The story is below if ya got the time.

Arielle was sitting in the Science building on the west side of the lounge on the second floor. She had jeans on, torn across both knees. She had a black fleece on and a mask, with straight dark hair with highlights framing her face. I never saw more than her eyes but she looked Filipino, her face was round. She said she wouldn’t have time for a survey. She had to leave in 5 minutes but how long would it take?  I said, “Would you like the short version?” and she said, “Sure.” I asked her the question, “You get hit by a bus, you’re dead and you stand before God and He says why should I let you into Heaven?” She replied, “’Cause I think I’ve been a good person most of my life. I treated people well. I made the right decisions.” She said she went to Church once in a while. I quickly went through the Gospel with her without many illustrations reading Bible verses to her. I asked her if she would want to be forgiven for her sins then, trusting in Jesus and she said, “Yeah.” So I read through the prayer with her, having explained living by the Holy Spirit’s power with Christ inside her. I asked if she would like to pray silently and she nodded and prayed to receive Jesus. She seemed moved and glad when I said she could keep the booklet. I quickly gave her the book Bible Promises for You writing her name and the date and “forgiven” in the front and by the Spirit’s power. She thanked me and ran off.

Slone was sitting on the sloped hill back up to the sidewalk going into the PE building. She had long rows of braids coming off her head pulled back into a group with a tie. Thin athletic build, bright yellow nails, African American. She had attractive features and a light mark on her right temple. She wore jeans and a black t-shirt. She said she wanted to have kids and I checked if she also wanted a husband and she said she thought the guy she was with now was the one. He reads “Our Daily Bread” every day. I asked her what she would say to God if she died to get into Heaven. “Because even in the hard times,“ she began, “I feel like I walked with God. I would just say, ‘God you know my heart.’” She said she thought she would go to Heaven 100% but then she thought about it and said, “I’m not perfect, maybe 70 or 80%.” She was fun to talk to and enjoyed hearing the Gospel. I asked her what Jesus had done to take away her sins and she remembered Jesus had died. I explained the rest of the Gospel to her, that it was His righteousness that was to our credit, that His blood cleansed us and so now she was made perfect inside and matched God and He could live inside her. I explained she could receive Him by faith and that her good stuff did not fix her bad stuff. I asked if she would want to trust in Jesus to be forgiven for her sins where God would live inside her or if she thought something else. “Be forgiven for my sins,” she said sweetly, she had kind of a child like pitch to her voice when she said it. So I explained she could pray to be forgiven and walked her through the prayer, saying she could pray it silently. She nodded and she took the booklet and prayed to receive Jesus. I talked with her a while then about living by the Spirit’s power and a bit about her boyfriend. I gave her 20 Things God Can’t Do and wrote her name and the date and “forgiven” in the front. She said her boyfriend would like the book, so I gave her Lucado’s book of prayers for him and wrote his name, ‘To Dalvin’, in the front and ‘Praying for You’ saying I would pray for him too, having told her I would pray for her for the next year. I gave her a Bible Study on ways the Bible teaches that Jesus is God and said she could do it with her boyfriend. I explained that trusting in the righteousness of Jesus to be her righteousness, the likelihood she would go to Heaven was 100%. We talk some more about what she wanted to do. She was going into fashion and marketing. I got up to go and she said “I got a friend at work his name is Bob too. He’s super cool, all Bob’s are cool,” she said kindly. “Thank you I’m gonna tell my wife, Slone said I was cool.” “You are cool” she said with a big smile. “I’ll see you around, “ I said, climbing up to the sidewalk. “See you around,” she replied, “much blessings”

So thanks for your prayers for the Ministry and for evangelism today if you had a chance. God truly blessed me and I praised Him in thanks.

In Him,
Bob

Hey Brothers and Sisters in Christ.

I hope your day was blessed as mine was on campus. Karina prayed with me to receive Jesus (please pray for her to be blessed). Another girl Keema (had green tints all through her hair, tiny girl dressed all in black) was close, saying, after I walked her through the prayer, “I think this might help me.”  Then closed the booklet. I talked to her more and gave her a Bible Promises for You book.

I went to student activities and the girl at the desk said she had no knowledge of written conditions for the Public entering the school and that to the best of her knowledge it had been open to the public in the same manner it always was. I have a friend who works with a different organization you would recognize the name of on campus that does campus outreach and Bible Studies. He said no one has spoken to him about his movements on campus at all saying he has received nothing in writing concerning limiting his activities at school. His club reserved a large public room for their Bible studies so they obviously know he is there. Another campus group is (I believe) doing student surveys to begin the year and get contacts as I have talked to sever students who did them. Several who did surveys have prayed with me to receive Christ, some were not interested in hearing more. But I know this campus groups actions have not been critiqued (by officialdom at COD).  I don’t know if their staff has done the surveys along with the students but I assume so as that has been the modus operandi of past years. So I guess I will wait until the police wish to talk with me again and take notes for our lawyer if they do. Here is Karina’s story if you feel like taking the time.

Karina was sitting in the cafeteria. By the time I got there it was late in the day, only one other person was in the huge room. I first looked in and thought it was empty. But walking around the angle of the vending machines I saw her sitting at a table alone, seeming to study. She said she’d do a student survey and it turned out she went to a local church where friends of ours have attended. She was raised catholic, however. She walked thought the parking lot later when I was sitting talking on the phone in my truck and I saw she had kind of a Saundra Bullock look, squared chin and her dark brown hair was long past her shoulders. She had milk-white plastic framed glasses and skinny jeans with ripped knees. She wore a dusty dark green velour long-sleeved top. She had a black mask on with a Christian fish symbol with a little cross in it. When I asked her if she died and stood before God what she would say to get into Heaven she said, “Umm, hmmm,” thinking a while and then, “That’s hard.” Finally she said, “That He necessarily doesn’t have to let me into Heaven. She thought her chance of going to Heaven was 50/50. So I began to go through the Gospel with her and she knew Jesus had died for our sins when I asked her what He had done to take her sins away. But she had not been trusting in it. I explained the righteousness of God, saying earlier than I usually do that if she would trust in the righteousness of Jesus to be her righteousness the likelihood she would go to Heaven was 100%. I explained His blood that cleanses us from sin and believing by faith.  Saying there were two kinds of persons those trusting in what Jesus had done for them so that God could live inside them and those who did not. Then I explained that the Spirit gave us power to live the Christian life and then we could live “inside out” where God’s power changes us, we become good people and do good things. She was engaged all through, I could see in her eyes though her mask was up. I asked if she would want to trust in Jesus to be forgiven and know she was going to Heaven. She seemed to be thinking but I just went on and said, “If you’d like to trust in Jesus there’s a prayer you can pray,” and I talked her through it. I said, “It says here is this prayer the desire of your heart?” She nodded. So I said if she wanted she could, “pray it silently right now and be forgiven, wanna do it?” “Sure” she said evenly. And she took the booklet and prayed to receive Jesus, ending by crossing herself. I restated the Christian life, trusting in the Spirit’s power to transform us. I gave her a copy of 20 Things God Can’t Do and wrote her name and the date and “forgiven” on the inside flap. I also gave her a Bible Study on how Jesus claims to be God and she said, “Thank you. Thank you. I really appreciate it.” I said sure and I would pray for her each day for a year and said, “Now you’re all set.” She thanked me again and I headed out to the truck.

So thanks for your prayers for my ministry troubles and for evangelism today if you had a chance. God Blessed in spite of my recent angst.

In Him,

Bob

Abraham, Eddie, Beth and Devion each prayed with me to receive Jesus today.

Abraham was sitting in a lounge on the 3rd floor of the BIC where it splits south west to hit the big lounge of the SSC building. He was a shortish guy with square glass lenses and a black mask. His hair was combed straight back with no part about an inch and a half on top of his head. He wore a shirt with LEVI’S on it and jeans. As I left he took off his mask to reveal a pencil width mustache, kind of an every-man looking guy. He did the technical support for the live feed for a church I have been to locally. I did a student survey with him asking, “You get hit by a bus, so you’re dead and you stand before God and He asks, ‘Why should I let you into Heaven?’ What would you say?” “That’s a tough question,” he replied. “I’m not sure. Christians should be more humble {but} they think just because they’re Christians they’ll go to Heaven. That’s not necessarily the case.” He thought he had a 50/50 chance of going to Heaven. He seemed engaged then as I went through the Gospel with him from what I could pick up from eye movement. When I got to the two circles asking him if he would want to be forgiven trusting in Jesus he said, “Oh yeah that one.” As if to say for sure. So I said if he’d like to be forgiven there was a prayer he could pray and talked through it asking if it was the desire of his heart. He expressed it was and so I said he could pray it silently and he said,”Sure.” And he took the booklet and prayed to receive Jesus. I gave him 20 Things God Can’t Do and wrote his name and the date and “forgiven” in the front. I wrote Just ask under some chapters that left an expectation that under one’s own power one had to do something to make God respond. I also gave him a Bible Study and getting up to leave I told him to say hi to his pastor.

Eddie was sitting on a bench outside the SRC building where the bus pulls up. He had a mop of curly brown hair pushing out from under a baseball cap and a slightly round face. Looked like he might have come from a Latino background. He had on a U of I logo sweatshirt and grey sweats and high tops. He was friendly and open to answering some questions. When I asked him what he would say to God he said, “Well I’m Catholic. I’d say because if I was born in God’s image we’re all His kids, I think He’d love to have all His kids with Him.” I said, “The Bible says we are all children of God in Acts and that God wills that none would perish so that is true.” He thought he had an 80% chance of going to Heaven. I began to explain the Gospel to Him and he knew Jesus had died. When I explained how the Blood of Jesus cleansed us from all sin in 1John 1:7, “So now you are alive inside and you match God now God can live inside you.” He said, “So that’s what that’s about [I think referring to the Mass]. Why don’t they tell us that?” I explained the righteousness of God was to his credit. I said by faith in Jesus believing He was God had died for his sins and rose from the dead he was saved. I asked him if he would want to be forgiven for his sins trusting in Jesus where God lived inside him or thought something else. “Yeah that,” he replied pointing at the circle with God inside. I said there was a prayer he could pray to be forgiven and walked him through it asking if he’d want to pray and he said, “Yeah,” enthusiastically. And he prayed out loud to receive Jesus.  I gave him 20 Things God Can’t Do and wrote his name and the date and “forgiven” in the front. I again wrote “Just Ask” under some chapters that left an expectation that under one’s own power one had to do something to make God respond. I also gave him a Bible Study on the deity of Christ. I then explained that confession to a priest was possible because God got paid by becoming a perfect man in sacrifice for us. Since we owed God a perfect payment we did not have to give. I went on using the analogy of an insurance agent for car insurance, where when you crack up your car you call the agent and he tells you, you are covered, and calls it in for you to the company. But the priest doesn’t pay the company pays. “Makes sense,” he said. I said that when he took the mass however he wanted to think about it symbolically he should remembered what Jesus had done and just say thank you. Getting up to leave I said I would pray for him each night for a year and he said, “Thank you very much.” And I headed out.

Beth was sitting in the PE lounge. I had seen her once before. She was also Catholic and since the room was basically empty and her back was against the post. She said she’d answer some questions. When I asked her why God should let her into Heaven she said, “Because I go to church every day.” I clarified she meant every Sunday and she agreed. She had long light brown hair past her shoulders with blonde hi-lights and was wearing black running shorts and a colorful tight shirt top ending a bit above her waste like I saw some of the Olympic runners wear, so I think she is a runner. She was just tracking some things on her lap top and phone. She was attractive with a medium size nose, kind of a tomboy cute, tan face. She listened attentively to the gospel smiling here and there her mask had been pulled down part of the time. After explaining trusting in Jesus and his righteousness I asked if she would want to trust in Christ by praying and she nodded and then nodded again after I walked through the prayer and I gave her the booklet and she prayed to receive Jesus. I gave her the booklet after explaining life in the Spirit. I asked her if she’d want a book with some Bible verses in it to read. She said, “Sure.” I gave her Bible Promises for You writing her name and the date and “forgiven” in the front. I then pointed back to the question of the likelihood she would go to Heaven where she had responded 50%. I said, “This is 100%. Because if you are trusting in the righteousness of Jesus to be your righteousness; how righteous is Jesus? 100% righteous and what is his righteousness worth? An infinite amount.” She seemed grateful and I headed out the doors to the outside.

I then walked up the stairs outside and found Devion on a park bench by the big fountain and pool on the North side of the BIC building. He thought he had done a survey before but when I asked him the question about what to say to God he said he hadn’t done that but he thought he knew how to get into Heaven. I asked what he thought got him in and he said, “Do good things.”  So I asked if he’s want to find out what the Bible said got him into Heaven and he said, “OK.” He is African American with short braids covering his head. Good-looking guy with a trimmed thin pencil thin mustache and a beard on the underside of his chin, medium size nose. He had grey Crocs on his feet though they were kicked off and grey socks on, light grey sweats and a shirt with a famous black musician on the front, I never had quite the angle to get a look at. He said he was studying psychology. As I went through the Gospel with him he was affirming saying things like “That’s true.” I asked if he would like to be forgiven trusting in Jesus or thought something else and he said he’d like to be forgiven so I walked him through the payer saying he could pray it silently in his heart right then and he took the booklet and prayed to receive Jesus. I explained as I had to everyone on Thursday living by the Spirit’s power “Inside out”. I said that if he went into a counseling practice the Spirit living in him could give him insight into other people’s lives to help them because God knew the content of their hearts. I said God would give him the power to do everything He was asking him to do. I said I would pray for him each day as I also had said to the others. I gave him 20 Things God Can’t Do and wrote his name and the date and “forgiven” in the front. I wrote “Just Ask” under some chapters that left an expectation that under one’s own power one had to do something to make God respond. I also gave him a Bible Study and getting up to leave I said, “Cool to talk with you.” “It was, thank you,” he replied. And I headed out.

So thanks for your prayers for the ministry and for evangelism yesterday if you had a chance. God truly blessed. We’ll see how the time there goes or if I am shut down going forward.

In Him,

Bob

Hey Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

I hope you had a good day walking in the light of God’s love for you. I had a good day on campus. Though it seems to be getting harder to find someone sitting around I have not spoken to, Katie prayed with me to receive Jesus today. I’d be grateful if you’d pray for her life in Christ to be blessed. Her story follows if ya got some time.

Katie walked out of the food preparation area and sat down at a table and began to dig into her subway sandwich. She had silver gray hair pouring out past her shoulders from under a ball cap. She wore black skinny jeans that were shredded up on the front and a black shirt covered in rhinestones with a jacket over it. She had not put on makeup where her mask had been, but as we talked while she was eating I could see she was a pretty girl with a bright white smile. A smallish nose and a golden base around her eyes. Her eye shadow was green and she had pointed dashes painted off the edges of her eyes. She had long clear pointed nails, and looked like an art student, which proved to be true though she was taking general education courses. She wanted to travel. I asked the question, “You’re walking down the road and you get hit by a bus. So you’re dead and you stand before God and He asks, “Why should I let you into Heaven?” What would you say?” She said, “It has something to do with faith.” I said that was true, but really Heaven wasn’t just a place. It was the presence of God, so we had to be changed to fit in there. “The philosophical word for it is ontology. Our being does not match God’s being. Like you are breathing air and you need to learn to breathe water. But you could not learn that. You’d have to be transformed into a different being.”  “Doesn’t everyone know deep down they deserve to go to Hell?” she replied. I agreed we all deserved it.  “For me I was raised by a pastor, it was constant rules and guilt. Existential fear.” She went on to say her parents did not want her to go to school but wanted her to take a minimum wage job so she would be dependent on a guy she married and stay home where he would earn the money. I had explained at one point that it was possible that her father’s placing all the rules he had on her might have been because he loved her and was afraid she would go to Hell.  But that sometimes people don’t speak the language another person needs to hear as love. I said people are all different and hear love differently at times. But I’m not sure where it fell in the conversation. I asked her what she thought the likelihood was she would go to Heaven. She said it was 50/50. I explained that the rule of Christianity according to Jesus is that you love God and love your neighbor as yourself. All the rules are supposed to be because you are trying to be loving. I explained that if she got up to go to the bathroom and her x-boyfriend walked in with a gun and walked up to me and said “Where is the girl who was sitting here?” I would tell him you went out the door the other way. And that would be the loving thing to do for you and for him,, so he would not have shot you and had to carry that through life. I began to explain the Gospel to her how God took away our sin with the Blood of Jesus and how His righteousness was to our credit. I told her that God adopted us and gave us all these things: The sacrifice for our sins, the blood that cleansed us, and the righteousness of God that surrounds us like a robe.  I explained she was saved by faith, in that Jesus was God, had died for her sins and rose from the dead. I said that if she wanted to be forgiven for her sins, trusting in Jesus, there was a prayer she could pray and I explained it. That she was asking God to live inside her and forgive her and make her the person He wanted her to be. Then I didn’t ask her to pray, but went to the back and explained living by the Spirit’s power to give her the strength to do anything God was asking her to do. She could ask Him to transform her and she would be able to do it. But if she was not ready to ask God to change her to do something, she could ask Him to change her into the kind of person who would want to ask Him to change her. God does everything, whatever we come across we just give it back to God. It says in James you do not have because you do not ask. “So Just Ask.” Then I turned back to the prayer and asked “So do you think you would want to ask God for forgiveness?” And she said, “Yes.” I said she could pray it silently so only God would hear, and she prayed to receive Jesus. And I was so grateful she did. I gave her 20 Things God Can’t Do writing her name and the date and “forgiven!” in the front (and “Just Ask” on a couple pages that directed her to do things). I also gave her Bible Promises for You and a Bible study on ways Jesus claims to be God. She said, “You don’t have to give me any books.” But I explained that people gave me money for books to give to students. “I’m sorry I have to run to class,” she said packing up to go. I said no worries and that I would pray for her for the next year each night. She was grateful and headed out to English class.

So thanks for your prayers for the ministry and for evangelism today if you had the chance. God truly blessed.

In Him,

Bob

Hey Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

I hope your day was filled with all good things. I had a good day on campus and Victor and Natalie each prayed with me to receive Jesus today. I’d be grateful for your prayers to bless them today. I got through the Gospel with others; a Mormon named Leslie and Joey, an atheist with a mop of green curly hair on his head, who took The Case for Christianity Answer Booklet. A Filipino guy Kier said he would consider the Gospel. Their stories are below if you feel like taking the time.

Victor was sitting at the opening for the tunnel that goes over to the PE building. He had on blue crocs with white stars and described himself as patriotic when I asked. He had a gold pen with a gold eagle at the end of it. His mask had a small American flag on it. He wore glasses and had the dry-look Clark Kent hair cut and regular guy face. He wore navy blue shorts and t-shirt. He had grown up in the Catholic Church and said he had done all the things required there growing up, touched all the bases. When I asked him what he would say to God if he died to get into Heaven he said, “First I’d say it’s not really my choice. I feel like I’ve been a descent person to everyone I know around me.” He went on to say he was imperfect. He thought he had maybe a 50/50 chance of going to Heaven. I went through the Gospel with him. I explained the sacrifice of Jesus, His resurrection and righteousness to our credit. When I offered him the circle to trust in Jesus as Savior, that he might be one with God living inside him he said, “I don’t really know.” He said that used to be more where he was at when he was younger, but things going on lately he’d lost enthusiasm for the Church, having once been the most religiously active kid in his family. I explained to him how the priest was like an agent you buy insurance for your car from. When you crack up your car you tell the agent and they take your information and say you are covered. But the agent does not pay, the insurance company pays. The priest, when you confess your sins to him, is telling you that you are forgiven as God’s representative. But it is God who forgives your sin. I said I can appreciate there are some things going on in the Catholic church that would be tough to endorse, but that he could have a direct relationship with God regardless of how things were going in the church. I said there was a prayer he could pray and I asked if he would like to be forgiven, having a relationship directly with God. I walked through it with him and asked if he’d like to do that, “Yeah,” he said shaking his head affirmingly. He took the booklet then and prayed to receive Jesus. Then he said of the prayer, “Can I take a picture of this?” I said he could keep the booklet. I explained then living “By the Spirit’s Power. Just ask,” and explained living “Inside Out”. I gave him 20 Things God Can’t Do, writing his name and the date and “forgiven!” on the inside. I gave him a Bible study on ways Jesus claims to be God. I said the Church might change but wherever he found to go, he could know the likelihood he was going to Heaven now was 100%. I got up to go and said, “Nice to meet you.” “Nice to meet you too. Thank you.” he replied. And I headed down the hall.

Natalie was sitting in one of the lounges against the atrium on the first floor. She was a small girl and was wearing a denim jumper with a bib and straps, had on pink high tops and had nails painted bright yellow. Cute kid, long brown hair, looked Latina. She went to a Catholic Church. When I asked her what she would say to get into Heaven she said, “Maybe… Everyone deserves a second chance” I asked the likelihood she would get into Heaven and she said, “I  don’t know, only God can say, I don’t know.” She listened closely to what I had to say and laughed a couple times engaged in the stories. I asked her if she would want to be forgiven, trusting in Christ for the forgiveness of her sins or believed something else. She said, “This one,” nodding affirmingly and enthusiastically and pointing with a long pinky nail at the circle with Christ inside your life. I said there was a prayer she could pray to be forgiven and walked her through it. I said she could pray it silently and she took the booklet and prayed to receive Jesus. I explained a life in Christ “By the Spirit’s Power,” and explained living inside out where the Spirit transforms us and then we do good things. I asked her if she would like a book with some verses to read and she said she would. So I gave her the book Bible Promises for You and The Case for Christianity Answer Booklet. I also gave her a Bible study on ways Jesus claims to be God. She had never heard the story where Jesus walks on the water. “Thanks so much for talking with me,” I said getting up to go. ”Thank you for explaining things,” she replied. And I headed out.

So thanks for your prayers for the ministry and for evangelism today if you had a chance. God truly blessed.

In Him,

Bob

Hey Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

Thanks for your prayers for the ministry today. I hope you had a great day and a great weekend lies ahead. An African American student named Joe prayed to receive Jesus today. The school was basically empty of students. I think most of the ones I saw were taking their class on-line at school on a computer in a lounge. I guess they may get better Wi-Fi at school than they do at home. Joe’s story is below if you have some time.

Joe was sitting on the third floor of the BIC building at school, outside the office of my faculty advisor (who I have not been able yet to touch base with). I had gone up to see if I could find him in his office and it was empty, but Joe sat on a bench and was willing to answer some questions. He had gone to a local church I had heard of. He had an inch and a half high afro, kind of rough on top. He had a mustache and a beard that was only on the underside base of his chin. Nice smile, medium size sharp nose and features. He wore gray stretch sweats and a grayish blue jacket. He said he wanted to travel. He was a defensive back for the football team, pretty big guy. I asked him what he would say to God if a bus killed him and he was asked why he should be let into Heaven. “I would say I made mistakes but I learned from them,” he replied. “I’ve grown from them.” He thought he had about a 60% chance of getting into Heaven when he died. I began to explain the Gospel to him and he seemed receptive, though I could not tell much through the mask. I kind of feel like I can see someone’s eyes respond a bit. He seemed to track with me anyway. I explained God had to take away his sins to live inside him and asked what Jesus had done to take away his sins. He thought for a minute then said, “He died.” “He died for you, right.” I replied. I explained that the blood of Jesus cleansed us from all sin and His righteousness could be to our credit. I illustrated things and explained why good works could not pay for the damage we’ve done, because we owe God something perfect. I asked him then if he would want to be forgiven for his sins, where Christ lived in him, or if he thought something else. “Be forgiven for my sins,” he said. So I said, “If you’d like to be forgiven there is a prayer you could pray,” and I walked him through it, telling him he could pray it silently. “Wanna do it?” I asked. He nodded and I gave him the booklet saying, “Just pretend I’m not here.” And he prayed to receive Christ. Taking back the booklet from him to write some more things down I said, “Your sins are forgiven.” I explained to him then the power of the Holy Spirit to live the Christian life and how God would give him the power to do anything He wanted him to do. I said living “inside out” God would transform him on the inside and then he would do good things. I told him God could give him powers of perception on the field or help him in any way, if success would lead to good things for him. I said that if he would trust in the righteousness of Jesus to be his righteousness, the likelihood he would get into Heaven was 100%. I gave him a copy of 20 Things God Can’t Do and wrote his name and the date and “forgiven” on the inside. I gave him a Bible study on places Jesus claims to be God and said I would pray for him each day for the next year.  Getting up to leave I said “Hey show me your face when I get over here, so I can remember it when I pray for you.” I crossed the hall and he flashed me a grin and I headed out.

So thanks for your prayers for the ministry and for evangelism today if you had a chance. God truly has blessed these first 2 weeks of school with 23 people praying to receive Jesus and a couple more committing to pray later to receive Christ.

In Him,

Bob

Hey Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

I hope your day held blessings in Christ and joy and peace in believing on Him for the future. Richard and Amarillus each prayed to receive Jesus today. I’d be grateful for your prayers to bless these two students. The description is below if you want to spend the time.

Richard was sitting at the counter in the cafeteria. He agreed to listen to some questions. He had dark skin and a pretty broken in COD t-shirt on. He had jeans on and was eating a Subway sandwich with some success. He had full lips, was on the short side and had a perfect inch-high afro. He said was born in America, but it seemed like he had also recently come here as he said, “I’ve come here for a second time.” He worked at Amazon. His parents were in Africa in Ghana and he lived with his sister. He was studying pre-calculus as I walked up. I wasn’t sure if his grasp of English was real solid as we spoke because I had to change up some wording at times. So I spoke very precisely and a bit slower than I usually do, checking as I did if he understood. He had that nice sounding British tone to his English. I read Ghana has 80 different spoken languages however, so who knows what he grew up with primarily. I asked him what he would say to God. He read the question again and I shortened it saying, “What is it that gets you into Heaven?” “Repent, confess your sins, ask God’s forgiveness, that’s forgiveness for sins,” he replied. He thought he had a 60% chance of going to Heaven. I proceeded to go through the Gospel then and he knew Jesus had died to take away our sins. After I had explained everything I asked if he would want to be forgiven, trusting in Jesus with God living inside him or if he thought something else. “Be forgiven,” he replied. I explained if he wanted to be forgiven there was a prayer he could pray. I walked him through the prayer explaining each thing as I went and asked if he would want to pray to be forgiven. He said, “Yes,” and took the booklet and prayed to receive Jesus, saying the pray where I could just here him. I explained a life in the Spirit’s power living “Inside Out.” He had a Bible so I gave him Bible Promises for You, showing him how he could look for a topic and read a verse from it. I gave him a Bible Study on ways Jesus claims to be God and told him I would pray for him to be blessed each night for the next year. I said I would see him around and he said “OK.” And I headed off.

Amarillus was sitting in the lounge by the vending machine in the BIC building 1st floor. I asked if she wanted to do a survey and she agreed. I was a little surprised, since so few girls have been up for it this year. She was playing a game on a phone-size screen and had another larger screen she wasn’t using for online gaming that was perpendicular to her across the table. She had a floppy hat on with a bear on the front band, a grey t-shirt on and a mask that she pulled down once or twice to drink from a bottle. She had a teddy-bear kind of look to her face, cute, sort of tomboyish. She had white polished nail and a girly purse though.  When she told me her name I told her it was cool saying it sounded like a name from a movie with castles and dragons in it. “I heard it once on Game of Thrones,” she replied. “Ha, see I was right,” I said and asked the questions. When I asked: What would she would say to God if she died and was asked “Why should I let you into Heaven?” “I mean you shouldn’t probably,” she replied. “Is there a ‘but’ in there anywhere?” I asked. She said there wasn’t saying, “I don’t deserve it.” I agreed, saying no one deserves it. I asked what the likelihood was she would go to heaven, “You know if God was having a good day and was merciful?” “I’d be begging I think. I have no interest in going to Hell,” Amarillus replied. I went through the Gospel with her and explained the righteousness of God that could be to her credit through Christ. I got her to smile a few times and she stayed engaged. Explaining she would not go to Heaven because she was good but because Jesus was good. When I got to the end, I asked if she wanted to be forgiven for her sins with God living inside her. “Sure,” she replied. “But I don’t have a relationship with God.” (That word made me feel like she had been to church and she later said she had a Bible.) I said something like, “Well if you would want to have a relationship with God where He forgave you and lived inside you, all you have to do is ask.  There’s a prayer you can pray.” And I turned the page and began to talk her through the prayer. I said, “It says here does this prayer express the desire of your heart? If it does you could pray this silently right now. I wouldn’t hear you but God would hear and you’d know you were forgiven. Wanna do it?” “Sure,” she said and took the booklet and prayed to receive Jesus. It took her a while and I think she had some things to say besides the prayer. When she was done, I explained to her living “inside out” and said by the Spirit’s power she would have what she needed to live the Christian life. I asked her if she would want an evidence book or just something to work through and she said something to work through. So I gave her a copy of 20 Things God Can’t Do and wrote her name and the date and “forgiven” in the front. I gave her a Bible study on different ways Jesus claims to be God in the Bible. I said I would pray for her for the next year and wave if I saw her around. She thanked me a couple times and I headed out.

So thanks for your prayers for the Bible study and for evangelism today if you had a chance. God blessed and I made some connections I hope will get stronger.

In Him,

Bob

Hey Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

I hope you had a good day walking with in Christ. I had a good day on campus and Adrian and Anecia each prayed with me to receive Jesus as their Savior today and Calvin (medium build guy with a ton of freckles and a tight short mop of red hair) was close. I gave him The Case for Christianity Answer Booklet. “I’ll check into it” he said. I’d be grateful for your prayers to bless them. Their stories are below if you have extra time today.

Anecia was a cute, round-face black girl. Her hair was up over her head and the curls were kind of here and there. She was not thin at all, on the short side, really shy and had on a mask on with Mini Mouse on it. She wore black rubber crocs, which I could see sitting at her feet, and black pants and a black t-shirt with a crazy colorful print or something on the front. I asked her if she would like to do a survey and she just nodded silently so I sat at her feet and began. I asked her what she would say to God if she died and was asked “Why should I let you into Heaven?” She thought for a minute and said, “The life I was living.” “That you were a good person?” I queried. “Yeah,” she replied. She thought she had a 20% or even only a 10% chance of going to Heaven. I began to go through the Gospel with her and used stories to make her interested and she laughed a couple times. As I finished I asked if she would want to be forgiven, trusting in Jesus with God inside or thought something else. “Be forgiven with God inside,” she replied. So I said if she wanted to trust in Christ there was a prayer she could pray. I talked through the prayer with her and asked her, reading, “It says here, ‘Is this prayer the desire of your heart?’ so if it is you could pray it silently right now. I wouldn’t hear you but God would hear and then you would know you were forgiven. Wanna do it?” She silently nodded took the booklet and prayed to receive Jesus. I explained to her living “Inside out By the Spirit’s power” to strengthen her and that the book of James says you have not because you do not ask, so “Just Ask.” Then I explained that if she would trust in the righteousness of Jesus to be her righteousness, the likelihood she would go to Heaven is 100%. She said she liked to read so I gave her 20 Things God Can’t Do writing her name and the date and “Forgiven” in the front. I also gave her The Case for Christianity Answer Booklet. And I gave her a Bible study on passages where Jesus claims to be God.  I thanked her for talking to me, telling her I would pray for her for the next year. I got to my feet, asking her if I could see her face to remember her when I prayed. She showed me her face with a tiny smile and I said, “Thanks, I’ll remember.” And I headed off down the hall into the cafeteria.

Adrian went to a Catholic Church. He had a big mop of brown hair, gray shiny shorts with a slightly darker stripe down the side. He had a dark blue hoodie on with a picture I could not make out.  He was eating a subway sandwich; he had full lips and a button bump chin you could almost cover with a quarter, pretty big dude. I asked him “Say you are walking down the road and you get hit by a bus. So you’re dead and you stand before God and He asks, ‘Why should I let you into Heaven?’ What would you say?” He thought for a moment and said, “’Cause I’ve always followed His Word through hard times.” He was 100% sure he would go to Heaven. I began to go through the Gospel with him and he knew Jesus had died to take away our sins. I explained the righteousness of God that Jesus earned, saying we did not go to Heaven because we’re good but because Jesus was good and we’re connected to Him. I asked him if he would want to be forgiven, trusting in what Jesus had done for him so God could live inside him. Or if he thought something else. “Be forgiven,” he replied. So I said there was a prayer he could pray to be forgiven, trusting in Jesus. I read through it, asking if he would want to pray it silently “Yeah,” he said firmly. And he took the booklet and prayed to receive Jesus. I explained living “by the Spirit’s power, Inside out” “You know you go to church and they say ‘You should do this, you should do this, and you should do that” and you’re like ‘this is great but I’m gonna forget this by Wednesday’.” He nodded in agreement with a slight expression as if to say that was his experience at church. “But if you wanted to you could ask God: ‘Make me this kind of man.’ And if you forgot by Wednesday it wouldn’t really matter because He would have started to work on Sunday.” I gave him a copy of 20 Things God Can’t Do. I wrote his name and the date and “forgiven” in the front explaining everything the book suggested you have to do, God would give you the power to do if you “Just Ask”.  I also gave him a Bible study on passages where Jesus claims to be God and told him I would pray for him for the next year. “Thank you, I appreciate it,” he replied sincerely and I headed out.

So thanks for your prayers for the Ministry and for Evangelism today if you had a chance. God truly blessed.

In Him,

Bob

Hey Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

I hope your day was blessed with all good things in Christ. I had a good day on campus. Derek and Micheal each received Jesus today. I also got a couple seeds planted, so I hope a couple others will turn to the truth. I’d be grateful for your prayers to bless these guys. The description is below if you want to spend the time.

Derek was sitting in the computer lounge as I walked in, with a colorful page open on his laptop so I thought he wasn’t studying. But he might have been. It turned out he was studying computer graphics at school. He was a thin guy with a narrow face and a shadow of a mustache and beard that did not reach it. He suggested I had probably seen him around in the past (as if he’d seen me) and I took him to mean past years. ‘Well I can’t really see ya right now cause of the mask,” I said with a smile.  But he pulled it down a second and looked really familiar. He had cornrow braids and the ends came down to his collar in back. He wore a workout jacket and a t-shirt with a lot of pictures on it I couldn’t decipher. He asked what the survey involved and I gave him the main question. Asking what he would say to God if he died and was asked “Why should I let you into Heaven?” He said the answer seemed to have a lot to it, he didn’t really know. I said it was understandable, telling him Christianity was like a blood transfusion where God wanted to transfuse His life into Him, to live inside him with his Holy Spirit, but first He had to take away his sin. I began to explain the Gospel. He had not trusted in Jesus yet, but agreed to everything I said as I spoke. When I asked if he would like to be forgiven, trusting in Jesus or thought something else he said, “I would want to be forgiven.” So I said if he wanted to be forgiven there was a prayer he could pray. I explained it to him and he seemed to be reading it as I gave it to him. I explained living “Inside out” where God transforms you and you become a different person able “By the Spirit’s Power” to do what God was asking him to do. I gave him a Bible Study and the Book 20 Things God Can’t Do writing his name and the date and forgiven in the front. Then I gave him the booklet and he said, “Where is that prayer at?” I showed him and asked if he had prayed it. “I usually pray in the day later,” he said. So I asked, “Do you believe Jesus is God, died for your sins and rose from the dead? And do you place your trust in that to be forgiven?” He said “Yes.” “The words can come later then.” I said. He asked about a Bible study, having talked to a friend of mine that has a different one. So I talked to him about the time and asked him to email me about coming. When I got home, he’d sent me an email so I’ll check up on him and see if we can connect some more.

I walked to the end of the hall on the south side of the ground floor of the BIC and as I came to the end where I would usually go over to the PE building, I felt like I was supposed to go outside. I exited and came out on the outside theatre of the MAC arts building. No one was around except a girl studying. Some students on their laptop are actually taking a quiz or in on online class this year. So I wrote some stuff down and checked my phone and started up the grass hill to go up to the PE entrance and on the hill sat Micheal. He was a thin, real good looking black guy, looked young. Had a shadow mustache and wore black skinny jeans shredded on the knees and a black t-shirt. He said he’d do a survey. It turned out he considered himself a Christian, which he told me as I explained the prayer to Him. But his response to the question was his own righteousness saying, “I tried to do everything I wanted to do without hurting anyone.” He went on to say that he felt like the Bible taught if you do that you’ll be OK. When I asked what the likelihood was he would get into Heaven he said, “I have a lot of life to live. I hope I go there. I would say I’d get a solid 70%.” After I went through the Gospel with him and he said he would want to be forgiven, he said he was a Christian and had forgotten to mention that.  I helped him to see that what he had been trusting in was that he would hold up his end and always do the right thing, not hurting anyone. But that he was not perfect and after a life lived there would be times he hadn’t done that. He agreed. So I explained if he would trust in Christ’s righteousness and not his own, the likelihood he would go to Heaven was 100%. I talked through the prayer with him asking if he had prayed it and he said he’d read it through as I had gone through it. So I said, “Amen?” And he said he had done it in his head. I gave him a Bible Study on ways Jesus claims to be God in the Scripture. I wrote his name and the date and “forgiven” in the front and he said he would like to come to a Bible study. We talked about when he was done at school and he said he’d send me an email so I hope we’ll connect again.

So thanks for your prayers for the Bible study and for evangelism today if you had a chance. God blessed and I made some connections I hope will get stronger.

In Him,

Bob

Hey Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

I hope your day was blessed. We are having some nice weather here after a few storms this weekend. I had a good day on campus and Cedric and Marshawn each prayed with me to receive Jesus. Please pray a blessing on them if ya got a moment. The details are below if you have some time.

I found Marshawn down the end of the corridor that goes past the yoga classes out to the MAC arts outdoor theatre. He had small braids about 4 inches long (seems to be the style right now) and later revealed a thin Errol Flynn style mustache and a chin beard, a wide nose and face and a warm smile. He wore a white hoodie and sweats. He played Basketball at school, broad shouldered athletic looking guy. I asked him if he’d like to do a survey and he said he’d done one. So I said this was different, asking him the main question where if he dies and God asks: Why should I let you into Heaven? He didn’t know what he’d say, so I asked if he’d like to know what the Bible says the answer is and he said, “Yeah you can tell me.” Then I said there’s a little booklet here I can use to explain it all. And sitting beside him on a bench I began to go through the Gospel. He did not remember what Jesus had done to take away his sins as we spoke, but I think it all came back to him as I went through it, seems he had gone to Church as a kid. I asked if he’d like to be forgiven, trusting in Jesus, where God would live inside him or if he thought something else. He said, “This one, to be forgiven,” he said pointing at the circle with God on the throne. I said,  “Well it seems like you might not have put all this together before?” “Well, it’s more like a refresher course,” he replied. So I said if he would like to trust in Christ to be forgiven there was a prayer he could pray and talked him through the prayer and asked if it was the desire of his heart, something he wanted to do. He said “What?” like he had been thinking about something else. So I read it through again and asked if he would like to pray and he said, “Uh huh, yeah.” And he took the booklet and prayed to receive Jesus. As I took the booklet back I said he could keep it “Yeah I would want it,” he interjected, but then I used the propositions in back to explain the Christian life living by the Spirit’s power. Reading, “Your walk with Christ depends on what you allow Him to do in and through you, empowered by the Holy Spirit, not what you do for Him by your own self effort.” So I wrote “By the Spirit’s Power” and “Just ask” saying the book of James says in the Bible, You do not have because you do not ask. I handed it to him and said, “So it’s inside out not outside in.” ‘What do you mean?” he asked. So I explained that unlike learning a jump shot, where you take a 1000 of them from the 3 point line (saying I had watched Paxson doing that before a game back in the day), you hope your discipline will change you muscle memory and change you on the inside and the shot will become automatic. But in Christianity, you ask God to change you on the inside first and you become a good person and do good things. I gave him Bible Promises for You writing his name and the date and “Forgiven” and “Inside Out” on the inside cover. I also gave him a Bible study on how Jesus claims to be God. He had not heard the story of how Jesus walked on the water, so I explained what Jesus had done and how He was claiming to be God. I told him I would pray for him and thanked him for talking with me. “Thanks so much,” he replied. I asked to see his face so I could picture it when I prayed for him. He shot me a grin and I headed out

I found Cedric then with his back against a post, just past the doors into the PE lounge. He said he’d do a survey. He was tall, 6”4’ I think and had a lighter brownish afro; it was kind of a mat that came out in braids. He wore a set of rectangle lenses for glasses, made him look smart. Did not look muscular, thin arms. Later saw he had a pyramid sharp nose and fairly sharp features, a beard only on his jaw line and a wisp of a mustache. Wore a white T-shirt and jeans. He wanted to become a pilot and travel the world. When I asked him what he would say to God to get into Heaven, he thought for a long time. “It literally would be like hard to make a decision—any one thing that I would say… there would be another that I shouldn’t have done either.” “Oh like the Scales of Justice balancing it out. Did you do more good than bad?” I asked. He seemed to agree, but might not have known what the Scales of Justice were. He thought he had maybe a 50 or 60% chance of going to Heaven. So I began to explain the Gospel to him and he tuned right in. He knew Jesus had died to take away his sins. He interacted a bit as I explained the righteousness of God Christ earns that is to our credit. I asked if he would want to be forgiven for his sins, trusting in Jesus or if he thought something else. He said, “Yeah,”  he’d want to be forgiven. So I said there was a prayer he could pray and walking him through it, I asked if it was the desire of his heart I and would he want to pray it? He nodded and said, “Sure.” He then prayed to receive Jesus. So that was great. I took back the booklet to write in more. I explained living “Inside out, By the Spirit’s Power” saying “Just ask.” He said, “Thank you.”  I explained that trusting in the righteousness of Jesus to be his righteousness, the likelihood he would go to Heaven was 100%. I also gave him Bible Promises for You and a Bible study on how Jesus claims to be God. I wrote his name and the date and “Forgiven” in the front. I said I would pray for him and through next year. He thanked me again and I said, “Have a good one!” “You too,” he replied. “Thank you.”

So thanks for your prayers for the ministry today and for evangelism if you had a chance. God truly blessed.

In Him,

Bob
