Hey Sisters and Brothers in Christ,

I hope you had a good day walking with the Lord. I had a slow day on campus but finally after about 3 hours I came across Erika who prayed to receive Jesus. I unfortunately ended the day with an LGBTQIA++ advocate for a half hour. I was glad to be done at the end out of the minefield of offense. Erika was a very sweet person her story is below if you have the time. I’d be grateful for your prayers for her.

Erika was sitting on the hallway that goes past the bookstore. She was a lovely Filipino girl with long hair with some red tint in it on the right side. She had a light brown cardigan sweater on. Petite small face, slightly broader nose. She said she had gone to Catholic Church some when younger and holidays sometimes now.  I asked her what she would say to God if she died and He asked. “Why should I let you into Heaven?” “I would say…” she paused thinking. “I may have done some bad things, actions. But God is about forgiveness right?” “Yes He is.” I replied. She thought she had a 90% chance of going to Heaven. I went through the Gospel with her and she was very attentive. She knew Jesus had died to take away our sins. I explained how God was paid, over paid really by the blood of Jesus that pays God back for all the imperfect things we have done that we owe God something perfect for. “Oh!” She said understanding. I explained the righteousness of God Jesus earned to our credit. “Oh!” she said again. I asked if she would want to be forgiven trusting in Jesus by faith after explaining that to her and she said, “Yes.” I went through the prayer asking if it was the desire of her heart and she nodded yes. I said she could pray it silently and I wouldn’t hear. But God would, and she’d know she was forgiven.
“Wanna do it?” “Ok,” she said with a laugh. I explained the Christian life walking by the Spirit’s power and gave her a Bible Showing her the “Where to Turn” section and the section of messianic passages He fulfilled and I wrote her name and the date and “forgiven!” in the front. I gave her Bible Promises for You and The Case for Christ answer Booklet and a Bible study. I told her I’d pray for her and if I saw her again I would wave. She thanked me and I headed out.

Hey Sisters and Brothers in Christ,

I hope ya had a great day living a life by the Spirit’s power. “These are the good old days” as we still have freedom to speak the Gospel. Andrew, Sam and Anish each prayed with me to receive Jesus on campus today. Please pray they are blessed with faith and joy and peace in believing. Their stories are below if you have time to read them. Thanks for your prayers.

Andrew was sitting in a first floor lounge across the room from some vending machines on the edge of the hallway. He had a boyish face like an anime character, slight build and light brown hair parted down the middle. He wore a blue t-shirt and dark blue sweats with white stripes on the sides. He was very reserved. He asked how long the survey would take and I said 5 or 6 minutes for the questions but if he wanted the short version he could just answer the big question. So I asked him what he would say to God if he was killed by a bus and was asked “Why should I let you into Heaven?” He wasn’t sure what he’d say so I said the last part of the survey was what he thought of Christianity. His parents had taken him to Church. He listened patiently to the Gospel and knew Jesus had died to take away his sins. I asked him if he’d want to be forgiven for his sins trusting in what Jesus had done for him on the cross or thought something else and then said, “So what do you think would you want to be forgiven for your sins.” “Well the obvious answer is to be forgiven,” he said. So I said if he wanted to be forgiven there was a prayer he could pray and talked him through it asking if it was the desire of his heart. He said it was so I asked if he wanted to pray it silently, “I wouldn’t hear you but God would hear you and you’d know you were forgiven. Wanna do it?” “I could do it yeah,” he replied. And he prayed to receive Jesus. I explained a Christian life walking by the Spirit’s power inside out. He wasn’t interested in anything to read or even a Bible study but just took the booklet. I said I’d keep him in my prayers until spring and one year after. He was gracious and I left.

I came across Sam sitting on the edge of the big lounge in the Student Service Center in the sofa chairs. He was a solid built guy, my height, had a square jaw and a slightly rounded end nose. He had a mop of curls popping out the front of a gray hoodie and grey shorts on. He said he’d already done a survey so I explained this was something different. “The big question is: You get hit by a bus, so you’re dead and you stand before God and he says, Why should I let you into Heaven? What would you say?” I went on to say, “So it’s really the answer to that question have any interest in what the Bible say is the way to Heaven or not so much?” He said sure. So I went through the Gospel with him. He knew Jesus had died to take away our sin. I went on to explain that Jesus blood cleansed us from all sin. I said, “It’s really how God got paid. Say you borrow your friend’s car and you dent the fender then you pay the deductible and they pop out the dent spray it and it’s like new again, you give it back to your friend. So when you wreck somebody’s stuff you have to pay them back with something perfect. Well everything belongs to God, so when we hurt someone or ourselves or hurt the world in some way we have to pay God back with something perfect. But we can’t do anything perfect so we can’t pay. But God loves us. So He becomes a perfect man and when he dies his blood pays God back, over pays really, for all the imperfect things we’ve done that we owe God something perfect for. So the real reason God forgives you is he got paid.” “Wow,” Sam replied. I went on to explain the righteousness of God that was to his credit. When I gave the analogy for that he said wow again. I finished and so I asked if he would want to be forgiven or thought something else but before I could describe the other religions he said, “Be forgiven.” I said that then there was a prayer he could pray and talked him through it. I asked if it was the desire of his heart and he said, “Yeah.” So I said he could pray it right now and as I was handing it to him he asked, “Can I keep this?” I said, “Sure.” “Because I’m in the habit of praying a prayer at night and I could pray this tonight.” “Or you could break your habit and pray it right now,” I suggested. He nodded crossed himself and prayed to receive Jesus, crossing himself as he finished. I explained the Christian life by the Spirit’s power and offered him a Bible Promises for You Book and he wanted it so I wrote his name and the date and “forgiven!” in the front. I also gave him a Bible study. I said I assumed he was Catholic by the way he prayed. He said he was so I said, “ So when you take the Mass the wafer is symbolic of his blood,” then I corrected myself to say, “Body” and he did also at the same time, “and the wine symbolic of His blood, right sorry.” I said when he took it, it commemorated Jesus had died for him and so he was forgiven and could just say Thank You. He liked that. I told him I would pray for him. “Thanks for talking with me man,”  I said, getting up with him to go. “Of course. I appreciate it,” he replied and we headed off different directions.

I was over in the Science Buildings lounge finding no one to talk to and felt a prompting to cut across to the cafeteria and look for someone there. I went out the southeast door and took the sidewalk to cross the street and came across Anish sitting at a picnic table under the roof along the glass to the cafeteria. He was a very well groomed guy, seemed young. A white mask was pulled down under his chin and he had a mustache and smattering of beard I could see. He had heavy eyebrows and looked Indian or Pakistani, his dark hair was short on the sides and curls on top. At first he wasn’t interested in a survey so I said, “No worries,” and began to walk away. He stopped me and said, “I can do a survey.” I said ok and began to interview him. He was very clear in speaking, had no accent. When I asked him what He would say to God to get into Heaven and he said, “I’ve always supported my loved ones and I pray every night so I ask that you’d let me join your prosperous paradise.” He thought he had a 50% chance of going to Heaven. I hadn’t heard that description of Heaven before and based on his appearance I said, “Well, based on your saying ‘prosperous paradise’ I assume you are Muslim?” “No I go to a Catholic Church,” he said. “Oh ok well the rest of this is about what you think about Christianity so you’ll probably dig it, it’s just a bunch of Bible Verses.” He later said he prayed with his mother every night also. I began to go through the Gospel with him and saying God wanted to live inside him but first had to make him his type I asked, “What does Jesus do to take away your sins?” “He was crucified,” he replied. “Right,” I said and began to explain that Jesus perfect Blood paid for his sins and how God got paid. “Cool,” he replied. I explained the righteousness of Christ to our credit and he said “Cool,” again. I asked if he wanted to be forgiven or thought something else and he said he did. So I offered him the prayer saying if he had never asked Jesus to forgive him based on what He had done on the cross he could pray silently and be forgiven. “Wanna do it?” “Sure,” he replied and prayed to receive Christ. I began going through the Christian life with him and he only had a New Testament. He said he would like the Old Testament too. I gave him a Study Bible then showing him how the cross references worked and the 99 Doctrines in the front and the tools in back. I put his name and the date and “forgiven!” in the front and he was grateful. I also gave him a Bible Promises for You book and a Bible study and since he said he liked to read, The Case for Christ Answer Booklet. He was thankful and I said I would see him in Heaven and he said, “Ok,” with enthusiasm and I headed out to my truck.

Hey Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

I hope ya had a good day walking with the Lord. I had a good day on campus. Jason and Giancarlo prayed to receive Christ and I bumped into Brian who said he would pray later and he said he had done so. So I’m grateful for God being willing to use the ministry on campus to get people directed to their life with God. Their stories are below if you have some time today, please pray they grow in their faith.

Jason was sitting on the chairs in front of the doors into the tunnel into the PE building from the BIC. He had a curly strings of thick hair to his jaw-line wore rectangular wire rimmed glasses. He was a tall athletically built guy. Wore athletic shorts and a bluish t-shirt, angular facial features. He said he was a part of his college group he said he’d do a survey. He wasn’t cheerful at all but stat through the survey, he might have been having a bad day. When I asked him what he would say to God he said, “Hum… If it’s my time to die, I feel like I’ve served my purpose on Earth.” He thought he had a 75% chance of going to Heaven. When I asked him in presenting the Gospel what Jesus had done to take away his sins he thought for a minute and said, “I’m drawing a blank. I said no worries it will probably all come back to ya. I don’t know that it did altogether however and I think the Gospel seemed novel to him. But as I finished I asked if he would want to be forgiven trusting in Jesus or thought something else. He said, “The right,” choosing the circle with God inside. I said if he wanted to be forgiven there was a prayer he could pray and explained it saying he could pray it silently and asked if he wanted to he nodded and took the booklet then after a few moment he handed to back saying. “I’m sorry to cut this short but I have to meet one of the coaches.” I said “No worries. Wanna keep the booklet?” He took it and headed off and I said, “This is 100%.” And he headed down the tunnel. He’d been glancing at his phone so I knew he had to be somewhere. So wishing I’d had a few moments more I headed out.

Giancarlo was sitting on some of the sofa chairs in 1^st floor lounge at the bottom of the stairs near student activities. He looked like a young Charles Bronson, had the beginnings of his mustache and a mop of swept back hair, slightly more rounded features. He was a good natured guy. Wore a t-shirt and jeans. When I asked him what he would say to God to get into Heaven he said, “Humm that’s a complex question, what you’d say to God…” Then thinking a bit more he said, “I always avoided doing things out of ill will.” I agreed saying they say you should never punish your children until you have cooled down and he agreed. I asked him what the likelihood was he would get into Heaven and he said, “I don’t know what constitutes you going. You should learn the Bible and devote yourself to God. You can’t just be a good person. I used to be a catholic but I’m not so sure. I hope 60-79%> “Just passing I opined and he laughed saying, “Yeah.” I went through the Gospel with him and he remembered Jesus had died to take away his sins. When I had finished explain the Blood of Christ had paid for his sins and His righteousness was to his credit by faith I asked him if he would want to be forgiven for his sins or thought something else he replied. I guess the intelligent answer is to be forgiven for your sins. I don’t know I have been intending to get into faith again and this would be a place to start.”  I agreed it was a way to begin with God. He decided he would give God control of his life and prayed to receive Christ and be forgiven. And he prayed to receive Christ. He had a Bible and I gave him a Bible Study on the deity of Christ and a Bible Promises for You book writing his name and the date and “forgiven!” On the inside and he grinned when I wrote the last. He took the full sized copy of The Case for Christianity Answer Book and was genuinely interested to learn some more having studied on his own. He said he would contact me about a Bible study if he was interested but it would be good to have someone to ask questions of. So we exchanged phone numbers. I told him now trusting in the Righteousness of Jesus to be his righteousness the likelihood he would go to Heaven was 100%. I told him I would pray for him through next spring and then a year after one of Paul’s prayers in the Bible saying he had a lot of good one lines. He thanked me and I headed out.

A while later I bumped into Brian sitting in the MAC lounge. I had forgotten his face for a second but then when I got his name I recognized him and told him I had been praying for him. I asked if he had prayed that prayer in the booklet. He said he had. I had described him before sitting in the cafeteria a Latino guy, hair short, shaved sides straight flat mop of hair on top, had the blue collar look to him, mustache and smattering of beard. He still was that guy half shaved. He was cheerful. When I had asked him before what he would say to God to get into Heaven he said, “I’m a child of God.” He was a faithful Catholic and simply had never asked God to forgive him based on what Jesus had done. So I’m glad he prayed to receive the Lord and trust in His blood and righteousness.

Hey Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

I hope you had a great day walking with the Lord. I had a good day on campus and John,  Skye, and  Michael  each prayed with me to receive Jesus and I got some quick seeds planted with a couple really tall black athletes AB and Gee, and another guy Matt. Thanks so much for your help in prayer today if you had an opportunity. Please pray they grow. Their stories are below if you have some time.

John was the first guy I talked to he was a soft-spoken guy and came across as a mature person. He had a loose curly afro, African American, his features looked Caucasian a sharp smaller nose, a square sharp chin. He wore a gray sweatshirt; dark sweats and had a small mustache. I’d felt prompted to go down the first floor hall [BIC] and try to talk to someone in the lounge he was in so I headed down there. Of the 2 guys in the lounge, the first said no but John replied he was just reading the Bible.  I asked if he’d want to answer the one big question in the survey and he said, “If the answer isn’t too long.” So I asked him what he would say to God if he was hit by a bus and killed and God asked, “Why should I let you into Heaven. “I have faith,” he said. “Faith in what?” I asked. You had faith in that chair before you sat down. “In God he replied.” I said, “The Bible says there is a little more to it than that would you be interested in hearing some Bible verses that tell you how you get into Heaven?” “Yeah,” he said. So I sat down and began going through the booklet with him adding a few Bible verses, Hell and that Jesus was God, that God was paid by His blood, over paid really since Christ’s blood would be worth an infinite amount. He remembered Jesus had died for our sins. I also added an explanation of the Righteousness of God Christ earned that was to his credit. When I had finished going through the Gospel I asked if he would want to be forgiven or if he thought something else. He might have been thinking or hadn’t realized I hadn’t asked a rhetorical question. So I asked again and he said, “I’d want to be forgiven.” So I said that if he’d like to be forgiven there was a prayer he could pray and explaining it I asked if the words were the desire of his heart. He said they were so I said he could pray it silently and be forgiven. He agreed and took the booklet and prayed to receive Jesus. He had some Bibles and so I gave him a Bible study and asked if he thought he’d be interested to read some of Strobel’s arguments in The Case for Christianity Answer Booklet he said he would after I explained it and so I wrote his name and the date and “forgiven!” in the front. I also gave him Bible Promises for You. I told him I would be praying for him. I got up to leave and he said, “We’ll thank you. I appreciate it.” “Dude thank you, you made my day,” I replied. “Smiling he said, “You made mine too.” And I headed off.

I walked around some more and bumped into some guys coming out of the PE building who held the door for me and I thanked them for helping out an old man. They said they were sure the generation behind them wouldn’t help them when they got old. I went through the Gospel with one of them, Matt when I bumped into him later in the day.

I held the door for them as we went into the BIC wise cracking about beauty before age. Skye was sitting on a row of chairs at the door. She was up for doing a student survey and the guys had moved on. She was wearing an orange sweatshirt and black sweats with half slippers. Her unwashed hair was plastered to her head tied in back and she had a cute oval face. Heavy set she looked as if she’d just rolled out of bed. Her left ear had multiple piercings small enough to be real diamonds. I asked her the question where she gets hit by a bus and God asks her, “Why should I let you into Heaven?” “I mean I go to church,” she replied. “I follow all the things He has to say. I deserve to be there, I haven’t done anything where I deserve not to be there.” She thought she had a 95% chance of going to Heaven. I asked her what the big thing was that had taken away her sins and she struggled to remember at first. But she tracked with the Gospel and so I finished everything I say. I asked if she would want to be forgiven trusting in what Jesus has done or thought something else and she said, “A life with Christ.”  I said it didn’t seem like she had had a chance to put it all together before. If she’d like to be forgiven there was a prayer she could pray and I talked her through the prayer to receive Christ. I asked her if it was the desire of her heart and she said it was so I asked if she’d like to pray it silently and she said, “Sure.” She took the booklet and prayed and finishing she crossed herself. I said she could keep the booklet there was more about faith and I explained the Christian life. She did not have a Bible so I gave her a study Bible and showed her some of the things inside writing in it her name and the date and “forgiven!” I explained living inside out by the Spirit’s power. I gave her Bible Promises for You also and a Bible study and Strobel’s Answer Booklet I told her I would pray for her each day and getting up to go she said, “Thank you, have a good one.” “You too,” I said and headed off.

I came across Michael in the cafeteria. He had a brown afro, a slight build, white guy, was wearing a green t-shirt black shorts with stripes, had an oval face and bags under his eyes. He looked like he needed some sleep. He was reserved and thoughtful. I asked him if he wanted to do a survey and he wanted to know how long it was. I said, “You want the short version just answer one question?” He agreed so I asked him, “You’re walking down the road and you get hit by a bus so you’re dead and you stand before God and He says, Why should I let you into Heaven? What would you say?” “Overall I think I’m a good person myself, “ he replied. “I acknowledge the sins or mistakes I’ve done and admit to them.” He thought he had an 85% chance of going to Heaven. I said the rest of the survey was what you thought about Christianity and I asked him if he ever went to Church. He said he used to go more but now went on Holidays, Christmas and Easter for sure. I began to explain the Gospel to him and how God wanted to live inside him asking how God took away his sins. “Baptism?” he guessed. I said baptism is symbolic of it, you’re purified. I began to explain the gospel to him and he recalled some of it. Saying, “It makes a lot of sense,” as I explained how God was over paid for our sins by the blood of Christ that was worth an infinite amount. I asked if he wanted to be forgiven or thought something else. “The one on the right,” he said identifying the circle with Christ inside. So I offered him the prayer asking if it was the desire of his heart. “Yeah he replied. I said he could pray it silently and he said, “Yeah, thank you.” When he’d finished praying I explained the Christina life to him and he did not have a bible so I gave him the other one I had showing him the “Messianic Passages Fulfilled by Jesus” section in the back and the “Where to Turn” questions listed for Biblical answers. I explained living inside out trusting in the Spirit’s power. He wanted to get back into reading and I gave him a Bible study and the Bible Promises for You book. He said he’d get a hold of me by email to do another study if he had time. He said, “I feel like I knew the story, from Church religious education [there]. It kind of just left me over the years.” I said this was a way to start fresh. He said he felt like 10 years ago there were a lot more people going to Church and that fewer people were taking it seriously. I got up to go after I had told him I would be praying for him for the next year from spring and a year after. “I’ll see you in Heaven,” I said. “Yeah, thank you,” he replied saying, “I’ll email you if I want another Bible study or have a question or something. I appreciate it.” So then I headed out.

Hey Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

I hope your day was blessed today and you had joy and peace in believing. I had an ok day on campus. Victoria* had a big curly mop of hair committed to Christ. She’s African American, heavy set, was wearing a black mask and I could not see her face. She said that she thought she’d like to pray to receive Christ but would later. I had a long, long conversation with a former Muslim, Qasim. He had fought in Syria and was now an atheist, 21 years old. He had a long ponytail and a full beard and wore a ball cap. He said he would be interested in studying the Bible a bit, after I explained the Christian faith in a way he seemed not to have understood it before. I gave him a Bible Study on places Jesus uses the Old testament to claim to be God. The deeper things seemed interesting to him. But then he might have been being polite. I’ll be praying for him. He said he had memorized the entire Quran.

Hey Sisters and Brothers in Christ,

I hope ya had a great day serving the Lord with Gladness. I had a good day on campus and Arely prayed to receive Jesus. Colin took The Case for Christ Answer Booklet saying he followed Christianity for guidance but was not sure of the truth of it. I had a good lunch with David and we caught up. Please pray these students are led closer to the Lord. Arely’s story is below if ya got some time.

Arely was sitting at the first table you bump into headed into the cafeteria. She was pretty, Latina, her hair was parted down the middle. She had a long sleeve grey t-shirt on and shredded Jeans, a bright smile and hoop earrings. She seemed pretty engaged and smiled a lot and looked like the actress María Conchita Alonso when she was young, but more petite. I asked her what she would say to God if asked “Why should I let you into Heaven?”  She said, “I never thought about that,” and struggled to have anything to say. I asked her if she went to Church and she had more often when she was younger but now did not often have someone to take her. So I said, “What do you think they would say gets you into Heaven?” Focusing more on Him, following His commandments, all that stuff. Maybe just more like having faith in Him and spreading it.” She thought she had a 50/50 chance of going to Heaven. She tuned right in to the Gospel and liked the analogies or was amused by an old guy telling them. She knew Jesus had died to take away our sins. When I finished explaining the Gospel and the Righteousness of Christ we have by faith I asked if she wanted to be forgiven or thought something else. She seemed to hesitate, thinking about it. She seemed to say she was not sure so I said, “You don’t want to be forgiven?” Thinking she had made up her mind. She shook her head as if to say “No”.  “Yes.” She then said kind of realizing something. I don’t know what her thought process had been. I said there was a prayer she could pray if she wanted to be forgiven. I began to explain the prayer. In the middle an odd girl who walks around and seems a bit out of her mind walked by us. (She’s definitely not all there, has a blonde bob cut hair and is a pretty big girl though kind of child like). She leaned in and whispered something in Arely’s ear. Then walked away. I stopped and asked “What did she say?” She grinned and said, “I don’t know.” I said, “She seems out of her mind.” But I continued to explain the prayer and asked if it was the “desire of her heart” as it reads in the booklet. She said yes and I said she could pray it silently and know she was forgiven and she said, “OK,” and took the booklet and prayed. I explained a life in the Spirit asking for God’s help and gave her The Case for Christianity Answer Booklet and wrote her name and the date and “forgiven!” in the front. I also gave her a Bible study and told her I would be praying for her each night until a year from spring. I’ll see you in Heaven,” I said getting up to go. Thank you, thanks you, thank you for this she pointed at the books. And I said “You’re welcome and headed out.

Hey sisters and Brothers in Christ,

I hope you had a great day walking with Jesus. I found 7 people to talk to about the Lord again today. Vladimir took The Case for Christianity Answer Book today so I am hopeful God will use that in this life. Ryan trusted in Jesus praying to receive Christ. Anthony also prayed to receive Jesus who I went through the Gospel with yesterday. He said sort of said he’d think about it then. I bumped into him outside Starbucks and he said, “Hi” Hey Anthony,” I replied.  “I wanted to let you know I prayed, and I feel so much better,” he said. “Great I have been praying for you. That’s really great thanks for letting me know.” I replied and he shook my hand. So thanks for your prayers for the ministry of evangelism on campus and these students. God Blessed. Ryan was sitting in the Science building lounge on the second floor; there is a corner lounge that overlooks the big lounge below from the West side. He had a blue shirt on and blue jeans. He had a goatee postage stamp size beard on his chin and a mustache and black thin rimed rectangular glasses. He had a mop of curly brown hair and expressive face high, long, thin eyebrows. Kind of reminded me of Groucho Marx with a thin mustache.  I asked if he wanted to do a survey and he asked what it was about so I told him the main question. He said he didn’t know what he’d say.  I asked if he wanted to hear some Bible verses that gave the answer to the question. He said sure and I said, “So you want the verses or do the survey?” “Both” he said. I asked him again what he would say to God if asked, “Why should I let you into Heaven?” He replied, “Don’t you know me?” He’d had some time to think and try to be funny. But it played right in to what I would tell him about knowing God, that God wanted to live inside him. He thought he had an 80% chance of going to Heaven. He interjected that he thought God loved Satan, as He had created him and he was God’s child. I said the Bible nowhere said God loved Satan. I said Satan had lost his position as one of the Sons of God and others like him were held in chains of darkness waiting judgment. I said Satan would one day be thrown into the Lake of Fire and be destroyed there. “Oh,” he said. I don’t know what point he was about to make but he decided he’s been wrong about it. He said he heard voices sometimes and they would tell him things both good and bad. I said the Bible says to test the Spirit’s and that no evil spirit can claim Jesus is Lord God. I said if he asked God to forgive him trusting in Jesus he could ask God to take the thoughts of Satan out of his head and He would. I said everyone gets a bad thought sometimes and I do that sometimes. He did not think all the thoughts were bad. So I said he could ask God to take the thoughts of Satan out of his heart and if the thoughts stopped he’d know they were from Satan. He knew Jesus had died for his sins but had not trusted in this to be forgiven or been to church for a while and so we went back and forth on some things. I asked if he wanted to be forgiven and at first he’d said he was more interested in forgiving himself. I said that was pop psychology and he really could not forgive himself. He could try to forget about things but he could not fix them or pay someone back for doing them or fix himself. If he saw someone again it would still be awkward. But he could ask God to help others forget his errors and to make them into good, if he loved God and was called according to His purposes (I had quoted Romans 8:28 to him and referred back to it). This is what in the end persuaded him to receive Jesus I think, he saw God’s power to change things in his life, forgive and repair them. And after I had gone through the Gospel and explained things concerning Satan and then voices in your head, he prayed to receive Christ. I gave him Bible Promises for You and wrote his name and the date and “forgiven!” on the inside page. I explained now trusting in the righteousness of Jesus to be his righteousness the likelihood he would go to Heaven was 100%. I explained living “Inside Out” by the Spirit’s power. I also gave him a Bible study on the deity of Jesus based on his actions and statements in the Gospels. “Thank you,” he said as I got up to go. I told him I would be praying for him each day every day through a year from this spring and asked if he had anything I could pray for him now. He said his parents were going through a bad divorce so I said I’d pray about it. He was living with his dad and the other brother was 21.

Yesterday I was going through the Gospel with another guy Brady who wasn’t sure about Christianity. I gave him The Case for Christianity Answer Booklet at the end. But in the middle Anthony had walked up and I felt someone staring at my back. He had a clean shaven face though it did not seem to be producing much if any beard as yet. The birth dot on his face (beauty mark?) was part of his boyish good looks, he was shorter and had a mop of curly hair. Wearing jeans and a t-shirt. I thought it was another dude who interrupts sometimes who is a little off-balance before I turned to see Anthony. “What’s up?” I asked.  He asked if I was still doing interviews. I had asked him before (I think last school year) and he decided to do one saying he had seen me around. I said I could after I was done. He sat and overheard a lot of what I said. But afterwards I went outside to one of the tables by the waterfall around the corner with him and we talked. When I asked him what he would say to God to get into Heaven he said, “I do what I can to help others and help myself. I was a Boy Scout and made it up to Eagle Scout. I do what I can to help my community.” He worked hard. He said he did what he could not to get caught up in social media or look at his phone. That seemed a virtue in part it seemed as his X-girlfriend had an ongoing relationship with a guy on line, she had otherwise never met and now “dated”. He felt she’d been kind of emotionally cheated on him while she dated him and was enthralled with on line guy. He also said something about being a, “God and Country” kind of person. When I asked him the likelihood he would go to Heaven he said, “I’ve done what I can to fix mistakes and make other people happy, 80%.” He had overheard bits and pieces so I went through the Gospel again letting him finish an example if he’d caught it. I emphasized he would have to be perfect to enter Heaven. He had not been trusting in Jesus but said he wanted to be forgiven. I walked him through the prayer and he took the booklet and closed it. So I figured I had misread his intention. But I felt like he was close so I prayed for him a few times yesterday and today he had trusted in Jesus and prayed so that was great.  I thanked him for telling me today and for coming up to ask to talk yesterday. He said, “Sure,” and thanked me and shook my hand as I mentioned.

Hey Sisters and Brothers in Christ,

I hope your day was blessed with all good things from above. I had a good day on campus in as much as I went through the Gospel with 7 students and Sam prayed with me to receive Christ. The others all seemed like they were possibilities if God chose to draw them in, none were really opposed to the Gospel. Thanks for your prayers Sam’s story is below if ya got some time. Please pray for him that he’d grow in his faith.

Sam was sitting by the financial aid windows. I believe you pay your bills there too. He was a good looking black guy with a beard heavier on his jaw like rough in surface and about an inch and a half out. He had braids about 4 inches long. He wore a blue t-shirt and blue shorts. Slender build. When I asked him what he would say to God to be let into Heaven he said, “I haven’t done anything bad, hurt someone. I’ve always believed in Him and stuff. Been to church a couple times… I don’t know.” He thought he had a 100% chance of going to Heaven. I began to go through the Gospel with him and he knew Jesus had died for his sins. He tracked closely with the Gospel and got the point. So I finished going though the Gospel and I asked if he wanted to be forgiven for his sins with God living inside him to give him strength or thought something else and he said, “God live inside me thing,” pointing to the circle with God inside your life on the throne. I said that if he wanted to be forgiven there was a prayer he could pray and I walked him through it saying he could pray it silently. “Alright,” he replied and he took the booklet and prayed to receive Christ. When he finished I took it back saying he could keep it but using the end to explain living “inside out” by the power of the Spirit. He had his own bible. I gave him a copy of Bible Promises for You and wrote his name and the date and “forgiven!” on the inside. I gave him a Bible study on the places Jesus claims to be God appealing to the Old Testament. I said the likelihood he would go to Heaven now was 100% trusting in the Righteousness of Jesus to be his righteousness. “I’ll see you in Heaven. I’m old so I’ll get there first and show you where all the cool places are, so right away you’re gonna owe me.” “Yeah,” he said with a grin. I got up to leave and he said quite sincerely, “Thank you.” “Yeah, have a good one Brother,” I replied. And I headed out.

Hey Sisters and Brothers in Christ,

I hope your day was blessed with joy in serving Jesus. I had a good day on campus and Henry prayed with me to receive Jesus. Please pray he is blessed. His story is below. Another student Philip with bright blue eyes in the cafeteria was appreciative and interested to pray later taking the booklet.

Henry was sitting in the lowered floor area of the big lounge that connects the science buildings. He was studying but was willing to do a student survey. Everyone there this year seems to have their nose in a computer. He had a beard and short afro that was receding a bit, classic African American features. He wore a gray t-shirt and jeans cuffed over white tennis shoes, seemed a bit on the shorter side. He thought of himself as a Christian. I asked him what he would say to God if he died and was asked, “Why should I let you into Heaven?” He replied, “You don’t have too. I know it’s not by my works. I wouldn’t try to sound like I lived a holy life. I’d say, it’s up to you.” I asked him the likelihood he would get into Heaven and he said, “I really can’t say. I don’t have a number for that.” He felt no one could be certain of salvation. I began to go through the Gospel with him and explaining God would have to take away his sins, purify him to live inside him. I asked what Jesus had done to take away his sins. “He forgives you.” He said. “Yeah,” I replied. “He forgives you but the reason God forgives you is He got paid. I explained then what Jesus had done. He was really tuned in and when I asked him if he’d want to be forgiven with God living in him, trusting in Jesus or thought something else he said, “I’d choose to be with Jesus.” So I said there was a prayer he could pray and then after I explained it I said, “It says here is this prayer the desire of your heart? Would you say that it is?” He agreed so I said he could pray it silently and be forgiven would he like he like to?” “I’d do that yeah, thank you,” he replied taking the booklet. Then he prayed to receive Jesus. I explained living the Christian life “Inside out” by the Spirit’s power and I gave him a Bible study. I said the likelihood now he would go to heaven was 100% trusting in the righteousness of Jesus. He had a promise book but he took The Case for Christianity Answer Booklet so I wrote his name and the date and “forgiven!” on the inside and he was grateful. I told him I would be praying for him until a year from Spring. “Thanks for your time I know it’s busy in here.” I said getting up to go. “No Problem,” he replied. “God bless you,” “God bless you too,” he said and I headed out.

Hey Sisters and Brothers in Christ,

I hope your day was blessed with good things from the Lord and joy in your heart. I had a good day on campus and Scott and Josephinie* each trusted Christ as Savior. Please pray for them to grow in their faith in Christ. Their stories are below if you have some time to read today. Thanks for your prayers. Adnan was a Muslim (looked 30) who showed some interest today and took a Bible Study on the deity of Christ and The Case for Christianity Answer Booklet. He also copied down my friend’s phone number to contact who does ministry with Muslims, Hesham Shehab. So hopefully he’ll call him and he was not just being polite.

Scott was sitting in the hallway on the first floor that connects the BIC and the SSC. Interestingly enough the CRU group had a meeting today and so did Intervarsity Fellowship in rooms directly across from where we sat. Scott was wearing a white cowboy hat with the edges over his ears curled up. He actually looked something like “Woody” from the cartoon movie “Toy Story”. He had a thin face and similar features. His voice box seemed to have a kind of injury. When he spoke it sounded like he was speaking through water. It was a little difficult to make out the words. But I prayed for help not wanting to call attention to his disability. He had a dark red t-shirt on and grey shorts. When I asked him what he would say to God if he died and was asked: Why should I let you into Heaven? He said, “Um, I’m a Christian. I followed the scriptures as best I could.” He thought he had about a 70% chance of going to Heaven. I said God wanted to know and live inside him and so had to take way his sin and asked how Jesus did that. He didn’t know saying, “He forgives you?” So I went on to explain the Gospel. It seemed like he’d been to a few different Churches. One he’d had a falling out with, he said they’d asked him to leave. They did not believe any crosses should be displayed as it was idolatry.  He had a cross in his room, a piece of Jewelry his grandmother had inherited to him. He kept it on his mirror as a remembrance of her and her faith. We talked about legalism a bit. I went through the Gospel with him and he hadn’t really understood the atonement. I explained Christ’s righteousness and believing by faith. I asked if he would want to be forgiven with God living inside him trusting in what Jesus had done and he said, “I’d want to be forgiven with God inside.” So I said, “It doesn’t seem like you have put all this together before,” he kind of nodded, “But if you’d want to be forgiven there is a prayer you can pray.” and I talked him through it and asked, “It says here then is this prayer the desire of your heart?” “Yeah,” he said so I said he could pray it silently and God would hear and asked if he’d want to do it. ”Yeah,” he said enthusiastically. And he prayed to receive Jesus. I explained living “inside out” asking for transformation by the Spirit. I gave him a Bible Study and wrote his name and the date and “forgiven” in the front of Bible Promises for You. He thanked me and shook my hand and we both got up and left.

Josephine was sitting on the second floor of the east most science building in the hall. She was an attractive black woman, wearing jeans and a peasant blouse and looked to be in her mid 20’s. She had long hair with some brown tints in it and a rhinestone on her left cheek, full lips classic African American features. She had a larger frame but was not over weight at all. I asked her if she wanted to do a student survey and she said she’d been asked so I said this was a little different and asked if she’d just want to answer the one big question. She agreed.  So I of course said, “You’re walking down the road and you get hit by a bus so you’re dead and you stand before God and He says: Why should I let you into Heaven? What would you say?” “I’m a good person.” She’d said that she went to church and was a Christian. “The Bible says something a little different would you be interested in hearing the Bible verses that explain how you get to Heaven?” “OK,” she replied and I began to go through the Gospel with her. When I asked her what the big thing Jesus had done to take away her sins was she said, “He forgives you?” “Yeah I said He does but the real reason God forgives you is because He got paid.” I explained how Jesus lived the perfect life we could not and was the sacrifice for our sins and His blood cleansed us, paid God back for all the imperfect things we owed God something perfect for. “He over pays really by giving His life, unless you’ve killed someone.” I said. She smiled and said she hadn’t. When I finished explaining being saved by faith I asked her if she would want to be forgiven and have God live inside her and she said she did. So I said well do you think you have ever asked God to forgive you trusting in what Jesus has done or were you hoping to be good enough and things would work out?” “The second one,” she replied smiling kind of like you got me.. I said there was a prayer she could pray and I explained it saying she could pray it silently when she agreed it was the desire of her heart. “I’ll pray this later when I can be more intimate with God.” She talked about hierocracy a bit then and it seemed she wanted to feel like it was genuine. I said sure no worries and explained living “inside out” by the power of the Spirit and said if she was trusting now in the righteousness of Christ to be her righteousness the likelihood she would go to Heaven was 100%. I asked her again then, “So now if I asked you what you would say to God to get into Heaven what would you say?” She smiled and said, “Because of Jesus.” “His blood and righteousness right I said. I said there was a book she might like with promises in it and she agreed she would. I gave her Bible Promises for You and asked her to spell her name again for me and she said, “You can just write Josie,” and I wrote her name and the date and “forgiven” in the front and she was touched by that. I thanked her for talking with me and headed off. I hope I’ll get to that part of campus next Wednesday to try to bump into her again.
