Hey Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

I hope your day was blessed.  I had a good day sharing the faith with some of the peeps and Kyanna prayed to receive Christ.  She had a hat on when I saw her in the hallway.  Dark complexion, African American girl, pretty bright smile.  She was attending three different churches off and on. One was near her grandmother in the city.  She had some of the language of faith saying, “I kept my faith in Him,” though she had no real assurance of salvation.  She thought she had about a 60% chance of going to Heaven.  I asked her “What is the big thing that God did, that Jesus did to take away the sins of the world?”  She thought for a moment and then said, “I don’t know.”  So I explained the Gospel to her (tucking the booklet away as a security person walked by) and she said, “Wow” twice in the middle of my explaining how Jesus took her sin and restored life to the world and that His righteousness was to her credit.  I asked if she would like to be forgiven and she said she would, so I explained how she could ask to receive forgiveness and walked her through the prayer she could pray and she prayed to receive Christ.  I got her email and gave her More than a Carpenter to read.  I explained the work of the Holy Spirit in the Christian life.

I had a great conversation with Joel, a Latino Roman Catholic guy.  He went to church every week and seemed to be trying to please God, but had guilt.  Short hair, side burns, thin build, medium height, who said he would pray to commit his life to Christ later but it was difficult to tell if he had believed on Christ or had been kind of half-trusting in Christ and half hoping in his works.  But he said he had committed some big sins.  I talked him through the Gospel and the Christian life, and he wanted to pray at home but committed to Jesus and belief in Him to be made right with God.  I gave him Enjoying Your Walk with Christ and he was really happy.  Got his email.

So thanks for your prayers for the ministry and for evangelism today if you had a chance, God blessed.

In Him,

Bob Bollow

Hey Sisters and Brothers in Christ,
I hope you had a good day walking with the Lord today.  I had a good day on campus inasmuch as two students prayed to receive Jesus, Maribel and Rob.  Maribel seemed to have come from a Catholic background, Rob went to church but didn’t have any specifics of faith down theologically.  Maribel was sitting on the floor down one of the lateral hallways in the BIC just playing with her phone.  She said she would answer some questions.  She had long brown hair and was sitting with her knees up draped by her coat, cute kid.  But she said she had no idea what to say to God that might let her into Heaven.  She said, “That’s a really good question.  I’ve never thought about it b4.”She  thought about it some more and just said again, “I don’t know.”  Though she was pretty sure she’d go to Heaven and regularly went to church with her mom.  I said I could tell her the answer and went through the Gospel with her.  She was really receptive and interested and when I asked her if she would like to be forgiven she said she would.  So I walked her through the prayer and she asked if she could keep the booklet ( I said sure) and prayed to receive Christ.  She took a copy of the student edition of The Case for Faith.  I gave her a Bible study and explained the work of the Holy Spirit in her, to give her the strength when she asked, to live the Christian life.  I’m gonna email her a story.

Rob was right around the corner from there, sitting in some chairs.  He thought he deserved to go to Heaven, so probably he was pretty moral.  Though nowadays who knows, right?  Everyone thinks they’re good.  He has a bit darker complexion, short hair, athletic looking guy.  He’d gotten too busy to go to church of late.  Rob had absolutely no idea how God took away the sins of the world.  I began to explain the work of Christ to Him.  He was serious about it and listening.  After I went through the Gospel with him I asked him if he would want to be forgiven for his sins and have God live inside him and he did.  I said, ‘Well, this seems like it was new to you and you probably have never asked God forgive you for your sins based on what Jesus did for you on the Cross.”  He agreed he hadn’t, so I showed him a prayer where he could receive the forgiveness of God and he prayed to receive Christ.  I also explained the work of the Holy Spirit through the fruit of the Spirit in him, and gave him a Bible Study and the book, Playing with Purpose as he’d played basketball in school. So that was great.

So thanks so much for your prayers for the ministry and for evangelism today if you had a chance. God was with me and really blessed.

In Him,

Bob Bollow

Hey Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

Hope ya had a great day walking with the Lord.  I had a great day on campus and 3 students prayed with me to receive Christ, Edwardo, Andy, Marie (her bf also committed to Christ as he walked up waiting for her and heard the Gospel, but seemed a bit unsure.  He was also named Edwardo, coincidentally enough).

Edwardo was the first person I talked to today.  He was sitting on the floor behind a 24″ diameter post in the Science Building, waiting for class to start and said he’d answer some questions.  Cheerful guy, and a good sense of humor.  Brown hair, kind of a classic-looking guy, dark complexion with a scarf wrapped around his neck several times.  He said he went to catholic church every week.  When I asked him one thing he wanted to do b4 he died he said, “Find out who my father is.”  I guess his mom knows and won’t tell him.  I later encouraged him after he had received Christ that God was his true father.  I went through the Gospel with him and at one point he said, “I got it.”  But he had not seemed to understand the Gospel and seemed to be trusting in His good works.  He said he wanted to be forgiven for his sins.  So I asked him if he had ever asked God to forgive him for his sins based on what Jesus had done for him on the Cross.  Was he trusting in Jesus blood to forgive him or was he going to church and figured he was a pretty good guy and things would just work out?  He said, “The second one.”  So I said, “Then that is what you need to do to receive Christ and know you are forgiven.”  I read the prayer through with him and he prayed to receive Christ.  He took The Case for a Creator to read and I explained the work of the Holy Spirit to him as his strength to live the Christian life.  I got His email to send him some stuff.

Andy was sitting in the Science Building lounge.  Good looking guy, slight build, shorter, short brown hair.  He was active at his church, helping with the youth group and I think his priest was evangelical as he called him his pastor and he seemed to have given him books on the Christian life.  But he had not been trusting in Christ to make him right with God but that he simply wasn’t a bad person.  So I asked him the questions I basically asked Edwardo, and just like Edwardo he confessed he had been thinking he was good and serving at Church and had not been depending on the work of Christ.  I thought he was more the kind of guy who would pray later but he said, “That’s a good prayer,” after I went through it with him.  I assured he should pray it without my hearing just between him and God and he did.  He would not take a book, saying he had one from his pastor, but he took a Bible Study on the Deity of Christ.

Maria was sitting on the floor in the BIC building waiting for her boyfriend to come out of class.  Short, cute, little bit plump girl, Latino in appearance.  He came out when we were talking but I still was able to go through the Gospel quickly with her and show her some Bible verses and she prayed to receive Jesus.  Her boyfriend was listening to the Gospel and he seemed a bit hesitant, but then said he thought he believed in Jesus, so I will be praying for him (Edwardo).  I gave him a booklet and encouraged him to read it and ask for forgiveness.  I gave him a copy of the book Playing with Purpose as he was really into basketball.  It’s a very evangelical book. Maria took a copy of Enjoying Your Walk With God and I also gave them each Bible Studies.

So thanks for your prayers for the Ministry and for evangelism today if you had a chance.  God really blessed my day and I got to connect with some of my peeps too.  One of them is an Islamic girl I talk to sometimes and she asked me for prayer tonight on Facebook about a job she applied for.  She knows I pray for her, so that was great and a result of talking today.

Blessings,

Bob Bollow

Hey Sisters and Brothers in Christ,

I hope you had a blessed day walking with the Lord.  I had a great day on campus.  Three black students prayed to receive Christ; Two girls, Precious and Meishan (MeMe) and Brandon.  I was encouraged by a young Christian black guy named Jonathan, who is really resting in the Lord, to do the same.  I gave him a book on testimonies of faith in the NBA he was really excited to read.  He plays ball.

Precious and Meishan were sitting at a table on the second floor near the lounge where we have Bible study.  There are a ton of bureaucratic peeps around there, but I asked them to talk anyway (hoping not to be seen)  They said they wanted too, but did not have time b4 class.  But they were really nice. So I said sorry for interrupting and went on my way talking to several Christians and giving them assurance based on their faith.  Then towards the end of the day, (the school dies about 1 pm on a Friday as there are not many Friday classes), I came across them again sitting on the floor in the science building in the hall.  They were happy to answer some questions about God.  Meishan had big eyes and a round face, cute kid, hair pulled back.  Precious had a more mature look to her with shoulder length straight hair and straight features.  Neither understood the Gospel or had any assurance of salvation, though they had gone to church when they were young.  When I asked them why they would go to Heaven Precious talked about doing good things for poor people and others, giving homeless peeps her spare change.  Meishan basically said she’d ask for another chance to come back and accomplish things.  But both tuned in really well to the Gospel and Meishan said in answer to my Question, “I want to be forgiven!”  Precious had some questions about living for God saying effectively, “What if I don’t want to follow God?” I said, “Well there are two things that you might mean. Do you mean you don’t think you will have the desire to sometimes follow Him and you don’t and do not want to.  Or do you mean you want to follow God and would commit to Him, but do not think you will have the strength to follow through with the commitment?  Because if you want a relationship with God, He can give you the strength to live for Him if you receive Him by faith by the power of His Holy Spirit.”  She said she wanted to have a relationship with God and they both said they believe Jesus had died for them to take away their sin.  So I explained the prayer to them in the back of the little booklet I had been jumping off of and each prayed to receive Jesus.  I gave them books the student editions of The Case for Faith and The Case for Christ. I gave them Bible Studies and got their emails to send them some stuff.

Brandon was sitting on the stairs by the bookstore, waiting for the bus.  He had a pink-trimmed Bulls stocking cap on and a big smile and said he’d answer some questions.  I asked him why God would let him into Heaven and he said, “Because I prayed to wash my sins away… God forgives right?”  So I asked him, “How does God take away your sins?” he struggled a bit so I said, “What is the big thing God does to take away the sins of the world?”  As he struggled a bit more I said, “It has to do with Jesus.”  He shook his head and said, “I don’t know.”  So I said I had a booklet I could go through and tell him, and I went through the Gospel with him.  He believed it all and wanted to be forgive for his sins.  I asked him if he had been trusting in Jesus work on the Cross to forgive his sins or if he had ever asked God to forgive his sins based upon what Jesus had done.  He grinned a bit sheepishly and said, “No”  So I showed him a prayer he could pray and he prayed to receive Christ saying it aloud next to me.  That was great, but his bus pulled up as I offered him a book. He took a copy of Enjoying Your Walk With God and I asked him to email me as he ran for the bus and I handed him a Bible study.

So thanks so much for your prayers today for the Ministry and for Evangelism today if you had a moment. I was Guided by God’s Spirit.

In Him,

Bob Bollow

Hey Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
I had a good day of sharing today once I got some peeps to talk to me, took a while.  But Lily was very close to coming to Christ, a Hispanic formerly Catholic girl.  She wanted to pray at home but took a copy of the student edition of The Case for Faith.  And Kyra prayed with me to receive Christ.  I came upon her waiting for her ride by the revolving doors at the SRC building @ close to 3 PM.  The guy she was sharing a ride with came a while later, so we had some time to talk.  She is African American and goes to an Apostolic Church in the city.  She had kind of round features, bright eyes a warm smile, cute kid.  She said she would like to “adopt a kid” someday.  But she had no idea how God took away her sins and thought of herself as someone who helped people.  The Gospel seemed brand new to her.  But she tracked really well with me as I slowly walked her through some verses concerning what God had done for her through Christ’s blood on the Cross.  She was excited to pray to receive Christ.  When I asked her if she wanted a free book she exclaimed, “I get a book [too]!”  I showed her some books on faith and things but then asked her if she liked sports and she said she did, and in the end I gave her Playing with Purpose which has the testimony’s of some NBA players and she knew the guys on the cover so I think she was excited to read it. Then her ride showed up and they started out the door, so I handed her a Bible Study and encouraged her to email me and she said she would.

A kid got hassled by cops today in the lounge where we have Bible Study for no reason at all.  I’m sure some bureaucrat didn’t like the noise level.  It was reinforcement to stay out of there while doing evangelism.  One of the girls who came to the study, who is black, said they told her to keep any mention of God out of her emails in her other organization (The Social Club).  She said the president of the school told their club there should be no mention of God on campus.  So my suspicion that the president was the source of where the cops are coming from of late seems founded.

So thanks for your prayers keeping me safe and for leading by the Holy Spirit, the Lord worked today.

In Him,

Bob Bollow

Hey Sisters and Brothers in Christ,
I hope you had a great day today walking with God.  I had a good day on campus, though not very long because I met up with one of my favorite peeps and that took a big part of the day.  But Zach came to Christ today in the Science building, so that was great.  He is a Black guy, thin athletic kid with a afro and features that looked Indian except for his eyes.  He was messing around with his smartphone but took his head phones off and was up for talking.  He thought he was a good Christian, went to church.  I went through the Gospel with him and it seemed like he had been trusting in Jesus until he said, “All the times I been to church I never heard God can forgive you and live inside you. ” I said “well He will if you ask.”  I walked him through the prayer and he prayed to receive Christ.  We talked more about the Holy Spirit and God’s strength through His Spirit to live the Christian life.  He was a big NBA fan and we talked some hoops for a bit. So I gave him a copy of Playing with Purpose about the lives of faith of NBA stars.  I also gave him a Bible study and got his e-mail. So that was great.

So thanks so much for your prayers for the ministry and for evangelism today if you got a chance. God was really with me.

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
I hope ya had a great day walking with the Lord.  I had a good day at school.  4 different students prayed with me to receive Christ; Laversa, Martin, Ana and Karen.  Laversa was sitting on a bench on the second floor of the BIC building and I asked her to answer some questions for the Bible Study group.  She’s black, straight hair pulled back tight on her head.  She seemed to have some Christian ideas in her background, she didn’t think she was bad enough to go to hell and tracked well with the Gospel, though she did not seem to remember Jesus took away sin if she ever knew it.  She was attending, at times, some kind of Mosque in the city but agreed with everything I slipped into the conversation against Islam and b4 I could explore the topic with her much she had to run to class.  She did pray to receive Jesus with me and I explained the work and fruit of the Holy Spirit. I gave her the book Enjoying your Walk With God to read and a Bible study on the Deity of Christ.

Martin goes to a Roman Catholic Church every Sunday, he said he is part Irish, had curly dark brown hair. He had a works righteousness idea of salvation, but was only about 70% sure he’d make it to heaven.  He was sitting in the Science building on the floor when we talked.  He wanted to have God live inside him and be forgiven when I asked him, after I went through the Gospel.  I explained a prayer he could pray to do that and after he’d prayed to receive Christ I gave him a Bible Study and The Case for a Creator to read. I got his e-mail to send him some stuff and he seemed happy.

Ana was in a lounge on the second floor of the BIC, just about to set up her laptop on a table, but said she would answer some questions.  She had long brown hair and was from Mexico, a dangerous part she said, and could not return at present to visit.  She had no accent though, nice looking, really sweet kid.  She went to a Roman Catholic Church also and said she prayed every night.  She was certain she would go to heaven, but I explained to her she would have to live a perfect life and she admitted she hadn’t.  After I explained the gospel to her she said she would want to be forgiven and have God live inside her, so I offered the prayer to her, explaining it, and said she could pray right then if she wanted too and she enthusiastically said, “Oh yeah!”  And she happily prayed to receive Christ.  She did not have a Bible, so I gave her one and a Bible study.  She said that people were coming to her door and giving her little booklets, which is probably a cult but I gave her the student edition of The Case for Christ.  Most cults deny he is God. I also gave her a Bible Study on the Deity of Christ and got her e-mail to send her stuff.

Karen was sitting across from the Bookstore.  She wore glasses and had brown hair, shy, nice.  She really seemed like a kind, sweet person.  She attended the Catholic Church too.  But she also did not know how God took away her sins.  In the case of all of these kids, I asked them if they had trusted in what Jesus had done for them on the Cross to make them right with God or if they felt like, “Well I am pretty good person and I am religious,” and were hoping in that for things to work out with God.  Karen agreed that had been where she was at, but wanted to be forgiven and have God live inside her with His Holy Spirit.  She prayed to receive Christ and I gave her a Bible study.  She did not have her own Bible and fortunately I’d had a chance to go to my locker and get another one to give her.  She did not want to read a book.  I explained the Holy Spirit to her and said I would pray for her and she earnestly thanked me twice as I left her.

So I was really blessed today and God worked, thanks for your prayers for the ministry and for Evangelism today if you had a chance, God was faithful and heard.

In Him,

Bob Bollow

Hey Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
I hope you had a great day walking with Jesus.  I had a good day on campus and since it was nice out I tried to stay outside, stay out of view of my detractors.  I came across Nick on a bench outside the SRC building where peeps wait for the bus, sitting in the sun.  He was a big burley dude with a scrub beard and a plaid shirt.  Brown hair and glasses.  He looked like an offensive lineman, but it turned out he wanted to move to Nashville and try to make it in music.  He plays the mandolin.  We talked about that some and people I knew in Nashville or who had recorded there trying to make it.  I talked him through the Gospel and it turned out his family was lapsed Catholic.  His sister and brother had moved out when they got older and his folks had just kind of stopped going.  So he had as well.  He had no idea if he would go to Heaven, but after I explained the Gospel and what Christ had done for him, I took out a booklet and asked him if he wanted to forgiven for his sins and have Christ live inside him and he said he did.  I walked him through the prayer in it and he prayed with me to receive Christ.  I gave him a Bible Study and More Than a Carpenter to read and we talked some more about music.  I encouraged him to trust in the power of the Holy Spirit and to ask for God’s help and guidance in even his creative efforts with Music.  I talked to him about the song “Hallelujah” by Leonard Cohen. The lyric goes, “I heard there was a secret chord that David knew and it pleased the Lord”. David’s playing calmed the evil Spirit in Saul, so who knows.

Hey Sisters and Brothers in Christ,
I hope your day was blessed of the Lord and you were guided by His Spirit in all things.  I had a great day of sharing and two Students, Luis a Latino Guy, and Ryann, prayed to accept forgiveness by receiving Jesus as their Savior.  I also had some encouraging conversations with a couple guys;  Ricky (a guy overheard part of this and asked me to meet him there tomorrow too) and later Baru whose father is a moderate Muslim and whose mother is a Christian.  I gave each of them The Case for Christ (Ricky took the student version).

Luis was sitting in the Cafeteria eating and said he’d be interested to answer some questions.  He had a ball cap on, a thin mustache and walked with a forearm crutch.  He was trusting in his goodness to go to Heaven and hadn’t really thought about the death and resurrection of Christ.  But he wanted to be forgiven and have God live inside him.  So after I had gone through the Gospel with him he prayed to receive Jesus.  I gave him More than a Carpenter to read and told him I would pray for him.  Kyle, a Christian from China who had studied in Saipan, overheard us and we had a great conversation for some time about theology and Christianity in China and the underground churches there.  He asked some very good questions.  I left him feeling a lot of peace.   I had another half hour I planned to stay on campus so I walked over to the science building on the sidewalk outside as it was a beautiful day.

At the Science building I found Ryann sitting in the far end of the building in the lounge on the ground floor.  She was up for talking.  She felt she recently had asked God into her life wherein she had been away before.  She is pretty with brown curly hair, tanned complexion.  She knew that Jesus death was the way God had taken away sin, but she admitted she had not been trusting in that and had no assurance of salvation and had never asked God to forgive her sins based on what Jesus had done.  She could not believe God had forgiven her for all of her sins.  But I explained the Gospel and that it was Christ’s righteousness, not hers, that made her fit for Heaven that was to our credit.  I said, “Have you ever had someone do something really cruel to you and it feels like you died a little bit?”  She said she had.  I said, “When we sin it is like we create little bits of death around us and in us and in others.”  I explained that Jesus was the source of all life and that when He died he gave His life to restore all the death we have created.  And that we received this payment for our sins by faith.  She said she wanted to have God live inside her and be forgiven.  So I showed her the prayer where she could ask to receive Him and asked if she wanted to pray and she said, “Yes.”  And she did.  I talked to her about reading the Bible.  She did not have one, so I gave her one.  She was interested in Science and struggled with how it fit with faith.  I explained that every scientist has to act as if there is a God to order the world, to expect continuity in their experimentation, they are theists in the philosophical basis they work off of.  I said, “If everything came from random chance and an explosion you could not count on consistency in the Lab or in an O.R.”  She seemed to see that but it was a new idea to her.  So I gave her a copy of The Case for a Creator and a Bible study on the deity of Christ.  I got her e-mail to send her stuff too.

So thanks for your prayers for the Ministry and for evangelism on campus today if you had a moment. God really blessed the work.

In Him,

Hey Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

I hope you had a great day walking with Jesus.  I had a good day on campus, no police harassment all week and CJ came to Christ.  He was the first person I talked to, though it took me about 25 minutes to get anyone to talk to me at all.  He was sitting by the doors at the end of the BIC building, just killing time, and said he’d answer some questions for the bible Study group.  He’s a Black guy, about 6 foot, nice looking, had an afro.  Black sneakers on with cuffed straight-leg blue jeans.  He was articulate.  But as I went through the Gospel I got no real read on him.  When I asked him why God should let him into Heaven, he thought for a moment and just said, “I don’t know,” paused and said it again.  He had no hope of salvation, but he went to church pretty often.  He was completely unresponsive as I talked him through the booklet I use some of the bible verses out of, and the prayer at the end, just staring at the booklet not even making eye contact.  But he said he wanted to be forgiven and after I walked him through the prayer he prayed to receive Christ.  Then he visibly brightened and looked at me when I talked and seemed happy.  He took a copy of the book Playing with Purpose on the testimonies of NBA players and a Bible Study and gave me his e-mail.  Then we stood up and he reached out and shook my hand smiling and said, “Thank you I really appreciate it.”  So that was really great.

I had a several other good conversations.  One where I gave a guy, Jan, who just could not commit to Christ for the doubts he had, the student edition of The Case for Christ hoping it would remove any false hurdles.  He was going to a “Young Life” group.  I encouraged him, since he wanted to believe, to ask God for faith, showing him the verse in Ephesians 2:9 that teaches faith is a gift. “So ask God for it,” I said.  And he seemed like he would.  An Asian Christian guy was standing outside with his long board and I started a conversation with him.  Arkell was concerned for his Atheist friends and I encouraged him to pray more for them and gave him the student edition of The Case for Faith to help him think of some things to say to them and got his e-mail.

So thanks for your prayers for the Ministry and for evangelism today if you had a chance God truly blessed.

In Him,

Bob Bollow
